Chapter 4
Purvi wiped her tears away and walked to Arjun. She looked in to his eyes and pleaded to him to forgive her. "Arjun, I.. I am really sorry. I know I hurt you, I insulted your love, our love, I shattered your dreams, but Arjun please try and understand Arjun, I had no option..."
Before she could complete, "no option? No option Purvi? I had told you, we will come up with a solution together Purvi. But you still went ahead to get me married to Ovi. Did you not trust me enough Purvi? I love you a lot but if I have to prove my love for you by marrying your very own sister, then I am sorry I would rather die.."
She covered his mouth with her hand before he could conclude what he was saying. Looking deeply in to his eyes she shook her head conveying to him that he should never say such a thing ever again. They had an intense eye lock. His anger started melting seeing her concern and love in for him in her eyes but not much.
"Arjun, I trust you more than anyone. You are my love, my life; you have supported me through thick and thin, so how can I not trust you? It is just that I was really worried for Aai and due to that when Ovi proposed the deal; I accepted it, not thinking about anything. You tell me Arjun if you had one chance to do something for your mother, would you not do it? Arjun, Aai brought me up. I am not even her biological daughter, yet she has loved me and cared for me more than anyone. How could I be selfish Arjun? She was ready to give up her family for me and my happiness and I could do nothing for her in spite of knowing what she was going through. I cannot be so selfish Arjun. I know by doing this, I have still shown that I am selfish as I was only thinking about Aai and her happiness and not you. I am really sorry Arjun. I have realised my mistake and I am never ever going to repeat it. Please forgive me Arjun, please. I am sorry... " She broke down unable to continue what she was saying.
He pulled her in to his embrace and hugged her as if his life depended on it. "Ssh, calm down Purvi, please stop crying, you know nah I cannot see you cry. It kills me Purvi." Tears rolled down his cheeks while Purvi hugged him tighter. This was a testing time for them both and their love and they had to succeed.
As they broke apart from the hug, Arjun kissed away Purvi's tears. She felt shy and tried to move away saying, "Arjun, someone will come, please..."
He smiled at her innocence and shyness and pulled her in to a passionate hug. She hugged him with equal passion. However, the sweet and romantic moment was disturbed due to the interruption of the elders.
Archana, Manav, DK, Sulochana, Damodar and Teju came in to the room. Seeing the duo, they all smiled to themselves, while Purvi pulled away from Arjun and looked down, embarrassed unable to look up for a while. A blush crept on to her cheeks at which everyone smiled. Arjun looked away as well due to shyness. The parents of the duo were really happy that finally everything was sorted between the couple and they would get back together again.
While Arjun and Purvi were talking alone, the elders were discussing about the possibility of the marriage between the two of them and were quite worried. Seeing that it took ArVi quite a while talking, they grew worried and went to check in on them, and that is when they saw the most beautiful sight of the love birds in each other's arms. DK went to Arjun while Archana went to Purvi. Archana took Purvi inside while DK and Arjun stayed there.
Archana went to Purvi and Purvi hugged her due to happiness. "Aai, I am really happy you and Baba got back together. Finally I can see the happiness in your eyes that I always yearned to see. I am very happy today."
"But I am still sad Purvi. What if Arjun had listened to your demands? Then what would have happened? He really loves you Purvi, I have seen the way he struggled to prove to me that only he is worthy of you. His love reflects in his eyes dear. You are really lucky that someone loves you to this extent. Purvi, I am sure by now you have realised your mistake and will rectify it. Furthermore, you should realise that Arjun should be your priority once you get married to him. He should be your main concern as he is your husband. You do not have to worry about anyone or anything and that includes Ovi."
Purvi who was listening to her mother intently looks up at her in shock wondering what her mother is saying. "But Aai, Ovi is my sister, how can I not be worried about her?"
"Purvi, what I mean is that Arjun is your priority from now on. Also, you are forgetting that Ovi is my daughter, Manav and I are going to convince her, we will explain to her that what she wanted and what she did was wrong. You should not worry about her; you should worry about yourself and Arjun henceforth. Okay?"
Purvi blushed hearing that, lowered her gaze and nodded her head, "yes Aai."
Archana hugged her again and kissed her on the forehead.
Meanwhile, Arjun hugged DK. "Thanks dad for always supporting me and my love. And for bringing me up the way you have. You always taught me to fight for my love and had it not been for your teachings, I would have lost my Purvi today dad." Saying so, he got a bit emotional.
"Arjun you are thanking your dad? I have only done that which is my duty son. Nothing extraordinary. And if anyone deserves the credit, then it is your mum. It is from her whom I learnt all this and had she been here, she would have taught you better than me."
Arjun hugged his dad who became a bit sad, missing his mum. His mum was the only one who closest to his dad, the only woman in his life and DK had no one but her. Arjun did try being with DK and support him, but there is only so much a son can do. This made him realise what would have happened if he had agreed to Purvi and Ovi's deal. He would have lost the 1 important woman in his life. He already lost his mum; he could not afford to lose Purvi. Arjun consoled DK and managed to make him smile.
Purvi and Archana went outside in the living room where everybody else was. Manav went to Purvi and hugged her. He also thanked her for what she tried to do but also reprimanded her. He told her that he knows that she has realised her mistake and that Archana has also told her off, however, it is duty as her father to guide her when she is wrong. Purvi gets really emotional at that and hugs him. She tells him how she missed a father in her life although Archana fulfilled the roles of both the parents very well, but she still missed him and his protective hand over her head during her childhood and teenage years. But she is glad that he is there now to always support her, guide her and protect her. Everyone got really emotional while Purvi hugged Manav again.
Purvi looked at Arjun gratefully as it was because of his help that all the misunderstandings were cleared. He looked at her and smiled. In spite of the distance between the two of them, they had an eye lock. No one said a word, there was no need, as their eyes spoke volumes.
In the mean while, DK and Manav went inside to discuss about whether they should continue with the wedding or not. Both were a bit apprehensive due to Ovi, but came to the conclusion that the sooner ArVi will get married the better as Ovi will realise that they (ArVi) are made for each other. Because delaying the marriage could actually make her think that Arjun is still hers. They agree on the decision that they should go ahead with the wedding on the same day as there was still time for the muhurat (auspicious time) to end. They also discuss that they will have a wedding reception later for all the guests including the employees of their companies.
After their discussion was over, they went to everybody else and announced their decision of getting Arjun and Purvi married on the same day. Everyone present in the room (Archana, Sulochana, Teju and Damodar) was really happy. Purvi heard all this quietly and smiled to herself, a blush crept on her fair cheeks which was noticed by everyone. However, Arjun did not look that happy but no one noticed. Everyone was busy discussing on how everything was going to be done when they heard a masculine voice, "I am sorry I cannot get married to Purvi."
Phew!!! Finally complete! Now guys please relax and do not throw chappals and rotten tomatoes. Also please do not try to kill me for ending it there, warna aage kaise parhpaaogeđ
