Yesterday's episode was another eye opener for the way Rudra's character has shaped up. In his sad outburst to his brother, his father relives all Rudra's past horrors. How his mother left him, when he was just a kid. How he himself instead of providing a balm to the young kid's wounds only nurtured the feelings of hatred in the impressionable child.
One remembers the flash blacks where he is shown forcing little Rudra to eat burnt roti because nothing better is going to come his way. Also how he keeps sowing poison about beautiful women. Instead of becoming a mother and father both, to the poor child, he actually made him into an orphan with no one to wipe his tears. No wonder he grew up to be such a stone hearted person.
Even Mohini when she was taunting Rudra, reminded him how he would cry for his mother, firm in his belief that she would come back to him. How he dint want to leave the house, because he was worried how she would be able to find him when she returned. Rudra dint show his emotions at that time, only anger. But back in his office, he shed tears for all the sad moments of his childhood.
In fact, It is indeed amazing that he is not totally villainous , trying to avenge his mother's betrayal by exploiting all beautiful women. He is cruel to Paro, but never once have we seen him harbouring inappropriate thoughts about her. In fact, I feel he is fighting his own attraction for her.
Cv's have done a good job of building up his character sketch.
Despite being stone hearted, he is a righteous officer who loves his country and is determined to wipe out the desh drohi Tejawat. He has no personal animosity , only his sense of duty.
Recall, how in the initial episodes, after his encounter with the baraatis, he is wounded and down, unable to even stand up. But when the national flag is about to be stamped on, he gets up with tremendous self control and fights for its honour.
So although flawed, he is not a criminal. He is a soldier whose only possession in life is his rank and his uniform which he proudly wears. He is extremely loyal to his force, his country, his uniform.
This has been shown very effectively by the CVs through different instances.
Great job, cvs. I am sure the gradual change in him will also be depicted as effectively by them.
