Is Sonam Kapoor the top contender to play the lead in Sooraj Barjatya's film, starring Salman Khan? While there is no confirmation yet on who will play the female lead in the film, it is being said that Sonam is the one.

The film is going to be made on a big scale and revolves around a royal family. Sources claim that Sonam Kapoor might play a princess in the movie. "Sooraj is still working on the script and it is a subject that is close to his father's heart. The film revolves around young royalty where the lead actress will play a princess," a source is quoted as saying by a tabloid.

Sonam Kapoor's gorgeous Indian looks make her fit for the role. The actress is also playing a princess in her Disney movie Khoobsurat.

Earlier, it was said that Deepika Padukone will be the heroine, but the actress' busy schedule apparently didn't allow her to commit to the project. Even though little is known about the film, insiders say that it is going to be different from Sooraj Barjatya's trademark movies.

An elaborate set has been erected at ND Studios in Karjat, and reportedly more than 70 per cent of the film will be shot on set. The movie is expected to go on the floors this May, and will see a Diwali release next year.

It's also being said that Salman Khan, who is teaming up with Sooraj Barjatya after almost 15 years, will be seen in a double role in the movie. The superstar is quite excited about the project, and working with Sooraj again.

Sooraj have always presented his heroines in the most beautiful way . I am sure sonam is going to look her best in this movie and exactly how a princess should look like
