Priyanka, Parineeti snub cousin Meera Chopra

Many news articles have over a period of time put Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and her spunky cousin Parineeti Chopra across each other and tried to give 'sibling rivalry' tangent to their stories.

While gossip mills have on and off hinted at a discomfort between the two sisters, a latest news article on the website Emirates 24/7 says that Priyanka and Parineeti's another cousin Meera Chopra is where the cold war apparently exists.


According to the news report, Meera's trailer of her upcoming film 'Gang of Ghosts' is being shown along with Priyanka Chopra's 'Gunday', that released on the Valentine weekend.

The article mentions Meera saying she is happy for this development and hopes some of Priyanka's luck can rub off on her too. The report says that Priyanka has decided to stay clear of talking about Meera but did respond to another cousin Barbie Handa's entry into films who will be seen in a project by Abhinav Sinha.

The article further mentions Parineeti Chopra whose 'Hasee Toh Phasee' has received good box-office reviews apparently saying that "Meera could be a cousin of a cousin of a cousin. But she's not my second cousin also. Usually you call someone a cousin if you are a first or a second cousin only. And we don't talk to each other also".

Meera seems to have gotten offended by Parineeti's statement and replied "I don't know why Parineeti said something like that."

Maybe their families don't get along that well

Is Chopra family the Kapoor family of this generation where all family members are coming to film industry and ruling too except that here women are coming while in Kapoor's family, it were men in the beginning only, LOL!

yea i saw an interview of pari and posted it in another thread where she said that something like meera chopra kisi ki cousin ki cousin ki cousin, pata nahi kiski cousin hai or something lol

meera isnot close to them
i remember pari saying in an interview
they are not close.
i think it also has to do with meera's involvrment
in a murder case when she was doing south indian films.

I think it has more to do with Priyanka and Parineeti playing it safe, in terms of their respective public image. I read some posts on I-F a while back about Meera Chopra being a suspect in a murder case or something. Don't know what happened with that though.
