She shuddered as she heard another explosion. No, she wasn't scared; she was used to such situations. She bothered about the families who were hiding under her shade. She was bothered about all those shivering eyes she saw around her. They were scared. No matter how much she assured them that they were safe in this hiding spot they didn't quit fear. Of course who would? The hell was right there! The terrorists were ruling it. The battle between the commandos and the terrorists continued, while the victims shuddered under the shade they called "hiding spot"
She had been reassured, that they were safe. She had been told that there were more than 10 commandos guarding them. Yet again, she wasn't scared of herself, she feared for their safety. After all she had laid her life in stake for their sake. Her life, that's defined by only one person- Reyaansh. As she heard few screams from the neighborhood she shuddered. This time it was for him. Would he be alright? She thought.
Her eyes darted towards the commando who was walking towards her briskly. All shivering eyes looked at him with anticipation, hoping he would have some good news. But sooner they found he wasn't here for them, he was here for her. "ma'am.." he hated to call her that, but he had no choice. She noted the disappointment in his voice along with his awkwardness in calling her ma'am. "you didn't find him!! Did you?" her tone was that of accusation. He shut his eyes close. "I am sorry! We searched-" she cut him off, "I am going to find him myself!" she declared and rose to her feet. He caught her arms immediately. "Kria! No. Don't. its not safe for you.." he said his voice dipping concern. There was horrified look in his face. Kria didn't care. Not anymore. Kria glared at him as he clutched her arms tight. "You have NO right to stop me Rahul" she glared at him. He stiffened. He hadn't heard her call his name since ages. For all the life she knew him, she addressed him as rolu. "Kria! Don't risk your life." He said shaking her. She was insane! He knew it. Love makes people insane. He knew that too.
"I don't care! Not anymore! I trusted you.." she looked down and let lone tear drop down her cheeks. "you betrayed me.." she accused with low tone. He shuddered at her words. "You promised me he will be safe! You said, you will find him! I trusted you!" her words crossed straight through his heart, shredding them to pieces. He had done his best, he wanted to tell her. But in a way she was right too. May be could have tried harder. "he was helping you! He is in trouble because of you!" she accused. She knew she was talking blatantly. If anything, Rahul would never break her trust nor he would be selfish. His grip tightened on her arms "he was helping the nation! He was helping me, you and them!" he pointed at the innocent people looking at them with frightened eyes, "he was helping us! Everyone!" rahul continued. Her eyes moist, "he was, and he will always. But no one believed him. No one trusted him, Not even you! He is innocent, and they punished him for conspiracy! He was almost sentenced do death! And you too didn't trust him!" kria was in tears. Reyaansh was innocent. "I will find him!" she said determined. Rahul had to lose, infront of her, infront of her love. Reyaansh was indeed innocent.

He ran clutching his gun and hid behind the garbage bin. He breathed few times before opening his eyes. He sent few signals through his transmitter and then let a sigh of relief. He rubbed his eyes and rested by leaning towards the wall. It was stinking, more from blood rather from garbage. He wanted kick every bas***d who caused terror. He wanted to butcher them with his naked hands. He did too. Few of them, he killed them mercilessly. But every step he took he reminded himself, he had to stop this. He had to get in touch with the others. He alone wasn't enough. His army would soon come. Very soon. He thought. He didn't mind , he was trained to do this. He was commander-in-chief, he was once. Until he had be accused of conspiracy which he didn't do, but evidences spoke otherwise. No one trusted him. No one! No one, but her, Kria.
He relaxed himself as the memory of his conversation with smirit ghai came into his mind.
"never did I think I would see you behind bars, Reyaansh!" smriti stood there, ashamed of herself that her daughter was about to marry a terrorist.
"I have said before, I am saying it again. I didn't. I am not involved in any conspiracy whatsoever. I never betrayed my nation, I never will!" his limping foot was evidence of his loyalty to nation.
"but evidences say otherwise Reyaansh." Smriti scowled. Reyaansh shut his eyes, before he would say she continued "You are guilty. And its proved" his grip on bars tightened "Not yet! Not yet Mrs.Ghai!" he growled. Smriti looked away not able to meet his eyes, deep down in her heart she knew she was wrong. But her reputation was at stake, her husband's reputation was at stake- The Governer- Gautam Ghai. She wouldn't let any hands point to her family just because their future son-in-law was a terrorist. She wouldn't let her daughter's future ruin because of her daughter's so-called-lover.
"I am innocent. Kria trusts me. Thats enough-" he was cut short by smriti ghai's narrowed eyes "Kria doesn't trust you" she said and she saw him break. It was though the ground beneath him was yanked away. He fell into his chair with devastated look, he kept chanting "no. this couldn't be!" but smriti said otherwise. "She hates you! She is marrying Rahul. Don't ever bring her name anywhere. I don't want my family reputation to spoil because of a terrorist. Her words ran straight through his heart, shredding them to pieces. With darkness secluded around him, he couldn't see the white-lies smirti had just uttered.
Reyaansh shook his eyes as the memory of Rahul came into picture. "This is your only choice. As much as I hate to say this, I have left with no choice either. You help us, we will catch them together. We could still save this nation. Its only chance you have got to prove yourself. But-" Reyaansh listened to him with confused eyes. "But?" reyaansh probed. "I can't guarantee your life. Its high risk. You will now conspire against them. You will be our weapon." He completed. Which only meant Rahul was taking risk. He was Risking himself to help reyaansh, to save this nation. Why? No one trusted Reyaansh, there were proofs against him. Then why?
"Why are you doing this?" Reyaansh asked after giving him consent that he was in to the plan. Rahul looked away. "Because.. Kria.." Rahul walked away without completing his words. Reyaansh understood the words he left unsaid. "kria trusted him! Smriti lied" was all his brain processed.
Reyaansh had successfully done his job. He hunt them down like a wild animal. He saved most parts of the city from their attacks, but nothing could be perfect in this world. But they had plan B. never-the-less Reyaansh, with the help of his commandos they saved the city to great extent. This was the last group of terrorists who had somehow escaped. And reyaansh had sworn to get them down himself. Now he was alone, giving them hard time, misleading them. But he had lost the track of his fellow mates. He shall reach them soon.
Reyaansh heard an explosion from nearby. He didn't care. He didn't care to die, the commandos would be here soon. The terrorists had already lost the battle. But he shuddered. He shuddered thinking about her. Was she safe? He didn't mind to die. It was an honor to die in battlefield. But he wanted to see her. He wanted to touch her before he would breathe last. If luck favored he wanted to live the rest of his life with her. With his kria.
He got up from his position as he heard footsteps. He knew he had stalkers! He snickered and ran away clutching his gun; he was still limping.
"I have once made a mistake of letting him go, not again!" she said to him. "But kria.. its dangerous-" Rahul tried to object, "I will find him!" she declared firmly and turned on her heels. He had to let her go. After all Love makes people insane. And he followed her silently, love makes people insane, isn't it?

Interpreting his transmitted message the commandos reached the place soon. Reyaansh stood at the other side of the road, shooting the last of his stalker- terrorists. Kria stood at the other end, finally seeing him, she breathed relief. Rahul followed her.
"Reyaansh!" she yelled.
He turned around to find her running towards him. He didnt know whether he should cry, laugh or rejoice. It was too much of emotions. He felt light. He felt home. Throwing away the gun he ran towards her. The terrorists weren't done yet, they fired bullet against the lovers. But as they say, luck works in worst times. Rahul had their back. He had a whole platoon of commandos protecting the two lovers.
Reyaansh limped towards her, she clung onto him. The final explosion on the other side, made the ground shiver. Overflow of emotions led them to trip and fall upon each other.
He laughed as he laid upon her. She smiled shredding a last tear. She wont cry again she knew. As the cops surrounded them protecting and destroying the last traces of evil, they kissed.
Laying upon each other, in the middle of the road, amidst the gunfire. They sealed their love with a kiss. Rahul had their back, he vowed to protect them for the rest of his life. Commander-in-chief was now going to have a long holiday, Rahul thought cheekily.
Love makes people insane.
