Hi everyone.This post is for the analysis of the relationship of Raghav-Kalpi. What makes them and why should they be together? What draws one to the other?
Raghav:
Kalpana is Raghav's ticket to a normal and meaningful life. He needs an anchor to hold him down and to motivate him to live. He needs to live for something beyond revenge. Since he was a child, he has felt his loved ones go away from him. He had a mother who probably rejected him and a father who was snatched away from him. At a very early age he learnt that the people around him had no real interest in his welfare, their help and concern for him was only motivated by their selfish interests. He had no one to show his weaknesses to as people were only ready to pounce on him. Through the years he became tough and learnt to lead a lonely life.
His life lacks purpose or at least a meaningful one. This is where Kalpi comes in. Raghav, even as a child was drawn to Kalpi. Perhaps, it was due to the genuine personality about her. There was no pretense and no selfish motive. Raghav has always been and still is drawn to Kalpi. Her concern for him is genuine. It is what he lacks----someone to care for him genuinely.
That is why Kalpi draws him to her. No matter how hard he tries, she surprises him with her genuine personality, something to which he is not used to.
He may not admit it but he craves for a home and for someone to take care of him. All his life he has created a tough image of himself, only to lose his real self in the bargain. He needs someone who will love and care for the real-him. Raghav needs a reason to live for and Kalpi is that reason-Something he is yet to realize.
Kalpi:
Kalpana right from birth was a child who was born to live up to very high expectations. She craved for her mother's undivided love and attention which is not unreasonable.She needed her mother to give her the feeling of being loved and being special which she did not get. Yes, her mother loved her but she failed to express it to a child who had a lasting impression of being perhaps second to another girl of her age. She grew up to continue to prove herself and make her mother happy. She continued to try to get her mother's attention having been separated from her mother as a child when another girl got her mother's company and love. Burdened with other people's expectations and her own ambitions she did not form a close bond with anyone.
Kalpi needs someone to make her feel special, someone for whom she will be the most important person in the world and someone who will care about her feelings and understand her heart without fail.
Raghav and Kalpi: They need each other to complete the void in their lives and make it more meaningful.
