It was the day of the competition. The atmosphere was vibrant. Heart rates were increasing every passing moment. Beads of sweat were clearly visible on everyone's foreheads.

"Ready for the big competition?" the principal asked.

"Yes sir." Rey, Swayam and Sharon replied confidently while Taani hesitantly.

Rey sensed her tone and decided to talk to Taani, alone. After exiting the principal's cabin, Rey pulled Taani into the fire exit.

"Ouch" hissed Taani.

"Sorry" Rey immediately apologized.

"Mujhe yahan kyun kheecha?" Taani questioned Rey.

"Taani, are you scared for the performance today?" asked Rey.

"No, uhm, I'm not" Taani was hesitant in answering.

"Taani mujhse toh jhoot mat bolo" said Rey.

Taani let out a sigh and said, "Yes I am scared. Mujhe bohot tension aa raha hai; Will I perform well? Mein koi mistake toh nahi karungi na? Kahin mein bhool.."

Rey placed a finger on her lips to make her quiet and both were locked in an eye lock. Rey was clearly able to read her eyes. He could see her stressed and badly wanted to do something to calm her. Taani could see care, which was way beyond friendship in Rey's eyes. Rey came to senses after a while and broke the eye lock.

"Just relax. Tum ek bohot atchi dancer ho toh competition ki wajah se stress mat lo. You'll perform brilliantly, mark my words!" Rey tried to boost her up.

"But Rey.." Taani was interrupted by Rey, "Shoo.."

"Do you trust me?" Rey asked.

"Yes, I do." replied Taani.

"Bas ab baki sab khayal dimaag se nikal do aur chalo late ho raha hai" saying so he left the fire exit followed by Taani.

All four reached the venue of the competition. They were mesmerized seeing the ambience. They rushed to the allotted green rooms to dress up. First were the duet performances, followed by girls solo and lastly boys solo.

Swayam and Sharon got ready and were waiting backstage for the announcement.

"Kill it guys!" Rey wished them luck.

Taani just gestured a thumbs up to the duo.

The host announced their names and they were up on stage to dance.

Both dance like flowing water, smoothly. Their performance was well appreciated by everyone. They even got a standing ovation from the judges.

"Superb guys! You two rocked the stage!" Rey came and hugged Swayam and Sharon.

"Thanks Rey" said Swayam.

"Taani kahan hai?" asked Sharon.

"Woh change karne gayi hai. Lo aa gayi" Rey said pointing towards Taani.

"So? All set?" asked Sharon.

Taani didn't speak a single word. Hers eyes showed fear. Rey signaled Swayam and Sharon to go and ensured them that he'll handle the situation.

"Taani tum itni kyun dari huyi ho?" Rey asked politely.

"Rey, tumhe, principal sir ko, Sharon aur Swayam, sabko kaafi ummedein hai mujhse. Isiliye darr lag raha hai." Taani spoke out her heart.

"Ummedein nahi vishwas hai. We all believe that you have the capability. Tumhe bas khudpe bharosa karna hai" Rey said taking her hand in his.

"Tum sabko mujhpe itna bharosa kaise hai?" asked Taani.

"Baki sab ka toh pata nahi, but mujhe hai because I lo.." Rey was about to continue but was interrupted.

"Up next are the solo performances. We'll start with the beautiful girls" said the host.

"Solo start ho gaya hai, hume chalna chahiye" Rey composed himself and spoke.

Kya mein Taani se apni dil ki baat kehne wala tha? Rey what's wrong! I need to control myself!' thought Rey.

'Because I lo..' kahin Rey mujhe wahi toh nahi keh rahe the jo mein sunana chahati hoon? No, no, no. Taani jyada soch mat. Focus on dance!' thought Taani.

"Believe in yourself!" Rey told her and came and stood in the audience.

Taani danced very elegantly. Throughout the dance Rey adored Taani and her expressions. Taani too received a standing ovation. After the dance ended Rey went running backstage and hugged Taani tightly.

"You were too good!" he exclaimed.

"Rey I can't breathe" Taani complained.

"Oops sorry" saying so he broke the hug.

Taani took a sigh of relief but was attacked by Sharon in a tight hug.

"You were amazing on stage" both Swayam and Sharon said together.

"Thank you so much guys. Agar tum teeno nahi hote toh shayad mein kabhi dance nahi karti. And a special thanks to Rey" Taani's vote of thanks was interrupted by Sharon.

"Special thanks! I see!" Before Sharon could start her interrogation Swayam interrupted her.

"Guys hum baadmein baate karte hai. Rey tujhe ready nahi hona?" said Swayam.

"Ya ya going" Rey rushed in to change.

After a few minutes he came out with messy hair look.

"Rey baal toh banate atche se" said Sharon looking at him.

"I like them this way. Now shoo go in the audience. Go fast, go!" said Rey.

"Ya going!" Sharon and Swayam hugged him and went ahead.

"All the best" Taani greeted him and left as well.

[The part where the gang is cheering imagine the trio to be cheering.]

After the dance, all the girls present in the audience rush on stage to hug Rey. Some even kiss him on cheeks. Taani sees everything and her blood starts boiling up. Swayam is observing Taani's jealous expressions. Sharon too looks his way and sees Taani, but doesn't understand her expressions. Swayam pulls Sharon away from the crowd.

"Voh voh voh! He seems to be very popular amongst girls it seems. Girls please take him down along with you" winked the host.

"My plan worked! Taani unn girls ko Rey ke paas dekh kar jealous ho gayi. Itni jealous ki I'm sure usne ek-do ko apne mann mein hi maar diya hoga" said Swayam.

"Yeh tumhara idea tha? Amazing job! Toh abhi hume pata chal gaya hai ki both have feelings for each other, so now we can activate our plan" Sharon suggestively winked.

Nearly after every girl finished hugging and kissing Rey, he was free and he spotted Taani.

"Kaisa laga performance?" he asked smilingly.

"Kyun unn sab ne kam tareef ki jo yahan aake pooch rahe ho mujhse!" Taani answered back.

"Huh?!" Rey didn't understand the tone of her voice and before he could think on it Sharon came towards him.

"Rey amazing dude! Toh count kahan tak pahuncha?" teased Sharon.

"Thanks par mein count karna bhool gaya" Rey made a sad face.

"Don't worry meine kar diya count. Now you're just 100 away from your one lack count" said Swayam walking upto him.

"Bhai ho toh aisa" Rey patted Swayam's back.

Anger was already filled in Taani and their talks just increased her anger. She was getting very jealous with the fact that Rey still keeps that count.

"Guys I'll be back" said Taani to excuse herself.

"Arre kahan ja rahi ho? Abhi results announce ho jayenge" said Rey stopping her.

"Results will be announced after a break of 30 mins. Participants are requested to be seated in their allotted green rooms." announced the host.

"Chalo" said Swayam and they moved to the green room.

"So guys kya lagta hai, results kya honge?" Sharon asked once seated in the green room.

"I have a strong feeling that we'll win it" said Rey.

"Keep the feeling going" said Swayam.

"Kya hua Taani? Tum itni gusse mein kyun ho?" asked Sharon and Rey turned to see Taani.

"Haan Taani kya hua?" asked Rey.

"Kuch nahi" Taani just avoided their stares.

"Guys I think it's just something normal. Bohot dino se hum sab bohot worked out hai so aaj sub feelings bahar nikal rahi hai" Swayam tried to divert their attention from Taani.

"Swayam baba! Aapke charan kahan hai!" Rey started his mischievousness which got a smile on everyone's face including Taani.

All of them were joking around for some time. Time passed by and it was time of the results. The feelings going thorough everyone were mixed; excitement, tension, anxiety, hope. All four were holding hands and standing as support system for each other.

"I have the results in my hand and they are not at all shocking. This year too the legacy is maintained with one more award going the same way. Everyone give a huge round of applauds to the winning college, the college which in the history of this competition is taking all the awards their way is" the host announced followed by complete silence.

Heart rates had increased, excitement was overflowing, and eyes were sparkling.

"It is St. Louis College!"

"Wohooo!" all four hooted in unison and hugged each other tightly.

"Rey, Taani, Swayam and Sharon please come on stage to collect your trophies" said the host.

All four went on stage and collected their trophies from the judges. The spectators were applauding for them. After collecting the trophies, they were surrounded by everyone who were congratulating them.

Tears of happiness were forming in Taani's eyes. She hugged Rey as tightly as she could. Rey felt his shirt getting wet and tried to break the hug to see why was she crying. But Taani wasn't ready to break the hug. Rey lifted her up from the waist and went to a quiet corridor where no one was present. He kept her down and forcefully broke the hug and cupped her face.

"Taani kya hua? Tum ro kyun rahi ho? Is everything fine?" Rey asked getting hyper.

"Rey yeh khushi ke aasoon hai" Taani said with a smile.

"Tumne toh dara hi diya Taani!" said Rey.

"Thanks a lot Rey. Agar tum mujhe insist nahi karte toh shayad yeh feeling kabhi mehsoos karne hi nahi milti. Thank you so much" she said with a huge smile and tears in her eyes.

Rey wiped the tears with his thumb and said, "You don't have to thank me, as jo kuch kiya voh tumne kiya hai."

"Par tumne mujhe support toh kiya nai"

"Taani we are really good friends toh support karna toh banta hai. So please thanks mat kaho"

"Okay! I take them back" she giggled.

"Tum dono yaha kya kar rahe ho?" asked Sharon.

"Nothing to concern you madam. Chalo chalte hai" said Rey and started moving out.

Soon they left for home with some unforgettable memories to be cherished lifelong.
