Sona turns down Mani

Mani Ratnam's upcoming bilingual has already created quite a buzz. After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is making a comeback after a long maternity leave with this film, Shruti Haasan has also been signed. For the third heroine, the filmmaker had approached Sonakshi Sinha, but according to a source, the actress has refused the offer.
Ratnam met Shatrughan Sinha, who is a friend of the director, and outlined the role he had in mind for his daughter, before discussing it with Sonakshi. "She loved the role and it was really tough for her to let go of the offer. But she had prior commitments and didn't have the required dates. But she will definitely work with Mani Sir in the future."
This is the second film Sonakshi has refused in the last month. A few days ago, she turned down Subhash Ghai's offer to play Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur in his film on the Indian national who spent 22 years in a Pakistani prison for charges that were never proved, before breathing his last in 2013.
The actress is presently busy shooting Action Jackson with Ajay Devgn and Tevar with Arjun Kapoor. Her upcoming film Holiday, opposite Akshay Kumar, is due to release on June 6.
