Okay my history of the Gods is a little weak, call me an ABCD on this okay... from what I can recall Durga was created from all the Gods, as in every God gave a little of his(/her) power and together they formed Durga. She sits on a tiger and was/is the most powerful of all Gods. Durga was created to defeat evil.... just not sure who that was though. I'm gonna say the name Durga was choosen as Bani was re-created into all a more powerful character to destroy the evils inher life the name fits.

Someone want to confirm please.
