Generic topic based on assumption.

In todays world even with basic necessities fulfilled, humans are not satisfied. The very purpose for which humans used to strive in past was happiness. To attain happiness the basic necessities fulfilled was enough, but in todays world even with basic needs fulfilled common man is not happy / satisfied with life. Have you ever thought why?

Living in year 2007 has basic norms of leading a happy life has gone beyond Food, Clothing, shelter? why?

Can I person be satisfied if needs of food/clothing/shelter is fulfilled?

Yes anshu, person can be happy after that as these are called basic necessities and after that happiness depends more on attitude than circumstances or things. Man mein satosh ho to khushi aa hee jaati hai and santosh man ke andar se hee aata hai ...

For me, it's fairly simple. I need water. I grew up in and around water, and if I'm landlocked for a certain period of time, I grow restless. I need to be in the water. Surfing, diving, free-diving, it doesn't matter, but I need it for fulfillment.

Agree 100 %. Sleeping like a log is in some ways is an indication that one's mind is at rest - chain ki neend 😛

Per chain ki neend bhi toh tab tak nahi aati jab tak bed comfortable na ho 😊

I think with all the materialistic things out there for you to enjoy, it is only human to want them. I, personally, like good cars, good furniture, great house, gormet (low calori 😆 ) food etc. I realize all this cost a lot so I work too in my family. That's the only way to afford the luxurious life that I like. Now, if I wanted to stay home and expect my poor hubby to provide luxuries beyond his means, that would be bad.

I guess you can be satisfied if you know your means and stay with in those means. Wanting is not bad as long as you know and are ready to work hard to fulfill those wants.

Well said! There is nothing wrong in seeking luxury as long as you are willing to work hard - when you have slogged the whole day, you will be so tired that bed or no bed , you will have chain ki neend. I remember staying up all day to set up an exhibition stand and then sleeping on the hard floor with my handbag for a pillow. Woke up 6 hours later, feeling as good as new. 😃
