I think the way they're showing it is more realistic and shows Jalal's character for what it really is. You have to remember that he's never felt these kinds of feelings for anyone before. A couple of episodes back, he was still saying that he doesn't have a heart. For someone who has been brought up and raised to be so cold and emotionless in every way, it's obviously going to be hard for him to face his feelings and say it all to Jodha straight away. It will take time for him to warm up to his feelings.

In fact, even Jodha hasn't accepted that she loves him yet.
