Hi, I am atina and many of you know me from my bandham update writings. Due to the great public demand from you guys I thought I will try writing updates for Surya too

.So far 30 episodes are over and I have to recall the whole thing and write . I will try my best . But when I finish summarizing these 30 episodes then I can write in detail but still I wonder whether I can do a good job as writing Bandham!!!!!!! I can not remember some of the characters' names….. however as it goes I will let you all know the correct names etc………For the title song a couple ( male and female) dances Bhartha Natiyam which is very impressive. SOme photos I will try to post soon.

Ok …….so far….the story line is……..

This story takes place in Chennai.

Surya is a young smart and famous journalist and just stopped working for the famous Channel 3. Her family consists of her mother Maragatham and her two younger sisters Archana and Aishwarya. Archana is the quieter one and Aish is the chutty kadakutty and she is very talkative. All the three sisters are not yet married. Maragatham brought up her children for the past 18 years as a single parent!!!!!! That is what the society thinks but in fact her husband lives away from her rather he was forced to be away from Maragatham due to some false police case for a murder. Maragatham thinks that if she lives openly with her husband police will come to know about him and they will arrest him and hang him to death. So she prefers to live away from her husband and she forced him to marry another woman who is very rich and very sick. Maragatham's husband (I forgot his name) is a nice person who loves his three daughters so much and they meet in public places and talk to each other a few words as if they are talking to the tree or pretend to talk over phone while they are standing next to each other ...etc…

Surya was working in Channel 3 and her boss has a lot of respect for her and for some prestigious reason Surya resigned her job from the Channel 3. Her boss tells her that whenever she wants to join their Channel their doors will be open for her always.

Surya has a close friend called Nandini and one day she comes to know that Nandini is in jail and Surya goes to Nandini's house to meet her mom who is totally shattered and she tells Surya that she does not know anything and all she knows is police booked a false drug possession charge against Nandini and they took her and when she went to the station the Sub inspector Mangai did not allow her to see her daughter. She also tells that Nandini was in love with some one BIG. She begs surya to save her daughter from these people.

Swarna is a villain who owns a lot of business and very influential in political and business circle and she will do anything to attain her goal….. Even murder. The police SI who is keeping Nandini in her station under her custody calls Swarna as "akka" ( she is not her own sister but just a jaalra case who takes the money which Swarna throws now and then) Mangai is very sincere to Swarna. Often it is shown that Swarna instructs Mangai about how to treat Nandini without any mercy and Mangai updating Swarna regularly about Nandini.

Swarna's husband Uthiramoorthy who is a very popular politician but a very nice human being struggles to live with Swarna as a married partner. Somehow he fell in love Nandini and Swarna came to know about this ….hence all this drama with Nandini.He really loves Nandini and vice versa. Surya is busy finding who Nandini's lover is and she comes to the station but Mangai does not allow her to talk to Nandini.

Ravi (I think this is the correct name. if not I will correct it later) is a clean police officer who lives with his mother ( not in Chennai) His mother shows him some photos of girls for him to choose as his would be wife and he was so attracted by one girl and he chose that photo and tells his mom to go ahead with that girls proposal. That girl is Surya. After the formal phone calls Ravi's mom goes to Surya's house with her son to see Surya ( ponnu paarka) When Surya was told about this she was a bit shocked and tells her mom that she is not yet ready to marry and she wants to achieve so much in life. Some how Maragatham convinces her by telling that just see the boy since she has already told them to come home. Surya agrees to this. Ravi gets a chance to talk to Surya in the garden Ravi tells Surya that he always has so much respect for her as a journalist and when he asked her why she left her job Surya tells about some issues in the office and with some politicians. Ravi advises her that she should not give any damn importance to these petty matters and she should look forward to work further as a journalist in the same Channel 3. And Surya agrees with him and she also starts liking Ravi.

Ravi goes back to his place and arranges for a transfer for himself to Chennai. He comes and meets Surya and they both go to Channel 3 office and Surya introduces Ravi to her boss who is extremely happy that Surya is back to work there. With Ravi's help Surya goes and meets Nandini in the prison and consoles her and promises to her that she will soon bring her out.

Meanwhile Surya comes to know about Uthiramoorthy and meets him and was happy to find that he is more than willing to marry Nandini legally. Swarna threatens Surya not to get involved in this matter. But Surya goes to Swarna's house with the press camera men and without realizing that Surya came their as a journalist Swarna started screaming at her and shot at Surya ( nothing happens to Surya but the whole thing was recorded. This case comes to the court and Uthiramoorthy openly tells that how bad his wife is and he admits that he is in love with Nandini and he intends to marry her too.Swarna gets arrested and is sentenced imprisonment for 6 months.

Summary.....thodarum...

Archana has a boyfriend called Ashok and she becomes pregnant and he is so scared to tell his mom. He is very scared of his mom. Her name is Shakunthala Devi who is very rich and lives alone with her brother and she is a very strong and bossy character. She is living with a vengeance in her heart and searching for her husband's murderer. She thinks that Archana's father is the one who murdered her husband. Everyday she stands in front of her husband's picture and stares. She dresses as a widow. She always asks her brother if Maragatham's husband is dead then how come she still wears kungumam and flowers.

Since Ravi has just moved to Chennai in his new house his mom is unpacking things and she takes Ravi's dad's photo and hangs on the wall and smiles. The person in the photo here and the one in Shakunthala Devi's house is the same. But Ravi's mom is a Sumangali wearing pottu and flowers!!!!!!! ( ayo kuzhapparaangale aya!!!!)

( Do you all understand. Shakunthala Devi who dresses up as a widow thinks her husby is murdered by Maragatham's husby and Maragatham knows that her husby never killed anyone……Ravi's father is the same person as SD's husband and Ravi's mother is not a widow…….so one thing is for sure that he is alive!!!!.......Naane rumba kuzhappu kuzhappunnu seyarenna intha writer enakku mela oru padi….. )

She is planning to bring Maragatham's husband out by accepting the proposal of her son to marry Archana. She fixes a day for the engagement on a condition that Maragatham's husband should come. Maragatham tells that her husband is Canada and she will tell him to attend the engagement function. The three daughters are shocked to hear this. Meanwhile Maragatham meets her husband and tells him about all this and he tells that it is very important that he attends this for the sake of his daughter Archana. ( maragatham does not know about Shakunthala Devi's plan) Shakunthala goes to the police station and narrates the whole story to them and the police are happy to arrest a criminal for whom they are searching too for the past 18 years.
Police in civilian dress surrounds the house and Shakuntha and others are sitting inside waiting for Archana's father's arrival. Archana's father is in the car heading towards Maragatham's house. The tension builds up…..At one point Maragatham overhears a policeman talking over phone ( who is not in his uniform) that they are all waiting to arrest a criminal…..etc etc….At once she calls her husby and begs him to turn the car and go away and with so much hesitation he turns back and goes off.

After a long wait Shakunthala gets so furious and tells the whole gang of people who came with her to leave immediately and the engagement is called off too. Archana starts crying so bitterly. When Maragatham begs Shakunthala Devi she agrees to allow her son to marry Archana provided her dad comes and attends. Hearing this Maragatham shouts at her and they leave. As they leave Ravi and him mom enters and Shakunthala Devi narrates the whole story and asks her to reconsider about taking Surya from this family as their daughter in law.

Summary (PArt II)

Nandini is released from jail and she is free of any charge and was proved innocent in the court. Surya consults with a few lawyers about the legalization of Uthiramoorthy and Nandini's wedding. Mangai comes to Nandini's house and threatens and goes. Maragatham finds out that Archana is pregnant and she takes her to a doctor for an abortion but Archana refuses for an abortion and comes back home.

Archana is so furious with her mother and asks her so many questions about her dad. Maragatham becomes very angry too. Surya comes at this point and asks her mom to go and talk to Ashok's mother one more time. She goes there to meet Shkunthala Devi but she is not willing for any compromise at all. Archana goes to Ashok's office and begs him to accept her. Ashok says that he will definitely accept her if she comes out of her house leaving all the relationship with her family members and also tells that even his mom's wish is also the same. And archana does agree with Ashok and leaves her place in spite of Maragatham stopping her.

Archana is in Shakunthala Devi's house and SD sweet talks with Archana and praises her for leaving her family to come to her house. She also convinces her to sign in some court papers. When Archana asks for an explanation Shakunthala says, " athu onnum illamma….just a case against your mother , where you are telling that your mom has murdered your dad and she confessed this fact many times during her sleep." Archana says that her mom never told like that. But Shakunthala tells…if Archana tells like this then the court will order Maragatham to present her husband in the court immediately so finally Archanan will get to have a chance to see her dad after all…….

Court scene….many questions were asked and at last Archana accused of her mom for the murder of her dad. Maragatham refuses and the court orders her to bring her husband within 15 days if not she will be arrested for the charge of a murder case.

In surya's house Maragatham prays to god to save her husband. Surya comes in asks her mom to call her dad and Maragatham refuses to do so. Surya gets angry with her and tells it is due to her mom this matter
Got this serious and went to the court and she begs her mom not to be so adamant and she also tells her mom that if she brings her dad out to the lime light she will do paal abhishegam for her….. and Maragatham shouts at Surya " Just for your Paal abhishegam I am not willing to pawn my husband in this matter"…….. Episode 31

Surya asks her mom to call her dad and Maragatham refuses to do so. Surya gets angry with her and tells it is due to her mom this matter got this serious and went to the court and she begs her mom not to be so adamant and she also tells her mom that if she brings her dad out to the lime light she will do paal abhishegam for her….. and Maragatham shouts at Surya "Just for your Paal abhishegam I am not willing to pawn my husband in this matter"…….. Surya and Aishwarya stands still …shocked…..

Surya shockingly asks "what did you say mom? Bhali…? That means father's life is in danger if you bring him out and that is the reason you are doing all this? Please mom tell me what that danger is and by who this danger is caused to him…please tell me amma, may be I can do some thing about it". Maragatham simply cries looking at both the daughters and Aishwarya also begs her mom to reveal the facts about her dad. Maragatham runs to the pooja room and sits on the floor and starts her appeal to the God that why has he brought such a situation where she can not answer her own children and she swears upon her daughters that she did not do any thing wrong and prays to show some solution to this confusion.

Shakunthala Devi's house : Ashok and SD enter the hall where Archana is standing and thinking of something. Both mother and son are getting ready to put up a drama…..!!!! Ashok asks his mom why she brought Archana to this situation even she left her family as instructed to her by them and SD replies,
"naan un nallathukka than le made her mom to stand in the court

(😆 👍🏼this SD has a peculiar way of talking …I think it is Madurai Tamil…with everything adding le …….aamaam le…..inge vaa le……ange po..le… etc……SD acts so well in this character!!!😛 👍🏼)

At his point Surya enters and asks whether she could come in. SD says…welcome reporter madam and asks her whether she came there as a reporter. Surya says that she came there to see Archana and she wants to talk to her in private and asks Archana to come out for a minute. Archana instantly says that she can not come out and Surya can talk right there in front of her MIL and husby. Surya shouts at her and tells her that she should cancel the case against their mom and asks her to come and see how badly their mother is crying. Archana..refuses to cancel the case since that matter is not with in her reach anymore. Surya asks her to think of their mother and if this situation goes on like this she may do anything to herself. Hearing this Archana says," Pannikittume…..enna venalum pannikittume…I don't care. All I care is I and my family. that is it. and more over I did not file this case for a small reason…and if you all don't have any fear …then bring YOUR FATHER out…..Appuram one more think I want you to remember that this house is the place where I came to live my life and if you people come here often like this then it will only bring shame to me"……Surya becomes so furious and tells her that she does not have any right to talk like that and it so much shame on Archana that she brought her mom to the court….after all. She also tells that she regrets that she saved Archana from committing suicide and she promises that she will never come to her anymore but there will soon a time when Archana has to come to her instead…… Surya leaves.

[( 😡 😡During all the above conversation both Sd and her son Ashok look at each other with so much happiness and approval on their face…for Archana treating Surya this way…….damn………idiots…kill them…..👏)

Maragathams husband ( 😊I don't know his name yet….does any one know?????...ennam....mannichu oturungo........appale paarthukkalam naina......😊) opens the gate and enters in and waits at the front door restlessly after pressing the door bell. Maragatham hears the calling bell and walks to the door and opens ……and she was shocked to see her husby there. She asks him why he came there so openly and closes the door and when he comes in she also closes another opened side door. He sits on a sofa and tells Maragatham," nee thee kulichathum….going to the court stand…all is enough for me…now I have decided to surrender to the police and at least you all will be free of this kind of tortures"

Maragatham shows her husby a dead man's picture.......what an idea....!!!!!!!!

Maragatham keeps on telling that Surya might come anytime…..and Surya is riding her scooter and she is heading towards her house…..but the traffic so bad and she gets slower and slower…..!!!!

(The traffic is due to………?????????????? Ducks….hundreds of ducks……..enna ma ithu eppadi irrukku?????? )

Maragatham is asking her husband not to worry about her being arrested by the police, she tells that she has an alternate plan for this and walks to the cupboard. She comes back with a photograph in her hand….and she tells that she is going to show that photograph to the police telling that one was her husband. She also tells that the man in the photograph is no more and he was her close friend's husband who passed away in a car accident near Ootty. Her husband ..listens to this story and asks Maragatham to be very careful in this matter. Surya opens the gate……inside the house still the conversation goes on…Maragatham says not to worry and tells him to be away from the police eyes as how he was doing in the past….she would present this photo only at the last and the police may find out that he is really no more…..and they will close this case and we both can lead a life with out any tensions….Surya brings in the Sccootty….and parks it and starts walking to the door. Maragtham pushes her husband to the side door and asks him to leave telling that anytime Surya will come back. He stops Maragatham and asks whether the idea what she is going to imply on this will work without any probs….and as such she is in a mess and asks her to forget about this new plan….and Maragatham says it is ok…it will be safe…and almost pushes him out of the side door and as she closes that door Surya enters in thru the from door and she notices her mom's face which shows so much tension……quickly Maragatham manages and comes to her sense and tells surya" vamma…I will make coffee for you….I was closing this door since there is so much dust coming in due to traffic….."

Surya invites Mangai for NAndini's wedding

Surya knocks at someone's door. She is holding a tray of fruits, vethilla and a card placed on it. The door is opened by Mangai ( the jaalra police officer…jaalra to Swarna who is in the prison…) and Surya says that it is the first invitation of the wedding of Ukkiramoorthy and Nandini. Magai criticizes her that Nandini can not marry a man who is already married to her akka….and more over they need to get Swarna's concern for this marriage.

Surya replies to her that they also were thinking the same thing but some how the lawyers found another way where it says that any married man can remarry without his wife's concern if he can prove that he was mentally tortured by his living wife……and of course we all know and it was even telecasted in the TV how badly Swarna treats her husband.

Ravi Surya

Outside Surya's house a police jeep stops and Ravi ( I think that his name….Surya's would be maapillai…police officer…you all remember?!!!!) gets out of it with two other officers and comes to the front and asks is there anyone home?......Maragatham comes first followed by Surya they both were shocked to see Ravi standing there………….

October 18

Episode 32

Ravi with two more officers enter Surya's house. He talks very formally since he is on his duty there. Surya asks him to come in and Ravi announces that he is the one who is going to handle Maragatham's case and requests her to be co operative. Maragatham replies that whatever she knows she has already told in the court.



Ravi asks whether it is true that she has not seen her husband after he left her and she does not know that her husband is alive or not. Maragatham says " yes, I don't know and I have not met him after he left" After a little pause Ravi says that they have to search the house and he orders the two constables to search everywhere and he moves in too. After some time both police men come to Ravi and tell that they can not find anyone. But Ravi asks them to search in the other room meanwhile he goes and opens a cup board and he finds a photograph. He asks who is it and after so much of hesitation she admits that it is her husband's photograph.
(Remember……. Maragatham managed to get her friend's husband's photo who died in a car accident in Ootty)






Ravi tells that he is a murderer and he should be found and punished. Hearing this Surya and Aishwarya are shocked and Surya asks her mom whether what Ravi told is truth. Ravi criticizes Maragatham for keeping the truth of her husband even from the children and he leaves.
Surya asks her mom series of questions….why did he murder. Who did he murder? Was it for money or on revenge? Where is he now? …after hearing this entire question Maragatham still denies that her husband is not a murderer. Surya begs her mom to reveal the truth about her dad and if he is really innocent then she will help her to prove that he did not murder and he is an innocent.




In the prison Mangai is visiting Swarna. She asks what to do about Ukiramoothy's marriage with Nandini.
Swarna tells her to leave this matter as such and allow them to marry as their plan. Mangai is shocked to hear this.

Ukkiramoorthy ( Swarna's husband )

Swarna explains that Surya is very clever, she pointed one solid reason and filed for divorce and she succeeded in that too. The reason is that Ukkiramoorthy was tortured by his wife. However Swarna tells Mangai if she was that concerned then she can finish them off after the wedding and not before. Mangai was happy to hear this and she leaves.

Ravi enters the SP's office, salutes him and hands over the photograph to him. SP smiles and tells that since he has found the photo of the person soon he will find the real person too. He congratulates him for moving the case like this though he is related to them. Ravi informs the details which Maragatham told him. SP says this person is cheating the police for so many years and he doubts that either he is dead or as Archana told in the court Maragatham might have murdered him. The SP contunes,"Ravi do you one thing? This man not only murdered Shakunthala Devi's husband but also a foreign ambassador who was with SD"s husband. This case is very serious and big. This murderer is aware that if we find him he will be given death penalty and that is the he has vanished. Ravi was totally shocked to hear this. SP continues that if we get him with in these 15 days we can produce him in the court otherwise we have to arrest Maragatham and produce her in the court. There is no other way for us. SP returns the photo to Ravi and tells him to make arrangements to take copies and send to all the police station in Tamil Nadu.

Ravi reaches his house and he climbs the stairs to go to his room and he suddenly notices Surya sitting there waiting for him. He calls for his mom and trying to avoid Surya but Surya stops him and tells him that she came to meet him. Ravi says," Look miss Surya ….since I am dealing with this case it is not right on your part to come to my house at all." Surya says that she came to talk about that only. Ravi asks whether they found her father and Surya tells that her repeatedly telling that her father is not a murderer and he is innocent. Ravi sarcastically tells," So do you think your mom is the Chief Judge in the High Court? If your dad is innocent it should be proved in the court not by your mother inside your house. Moreover for your information, your dad did not kill one person but many and that too a foreign ambassador.

When Sp told this matter to me I was shocked. Just by hiding somewhere he can not escape from the punishment awaiting him. Please Miss Surya you may leave now…and please do not make an attempt to meet me regarding this anymore"

Surya requests him not to handle this case since she believes her mom. Hearing this Ravi becomes so furious and asks' "With what right you are asking me like this? Who are you to me anyway?"
Surya is shocked and……………………..

Epidose 33

In Channel 3 office Lakshman and Sandya are plaaning how to make Surya feel defeated. ( I have to tell about these two people here. Lakshman is Surya's colleague who is always jelous of Surya's talents as a journalist and waiting to get a chance to pull her down. Sandya is a lawyer but joined Channel 3 with Lakshman's help to revenge Surya. Sandya's mom gave a personal interview to Surya about how bad the call girls are treated by the society and bid influential men. When Surya's Channel telecasted this program Sandya's mother died and it was declared as suicide. And Sandya thinks that Surya is the responsible person for her mother's death and she wants to take revenge on Surya for this.

Sandya tells Lakshman to take this advantage of this confused situation with Surya's mother's case. They both plan to publish in all the news paper about this case in such a manner everyone should know that Surya's birth is itself is a question mark since she does not know who her father is and to write about her mom as a characterless woman. Lakshman promises Sandya that with his friends who owns most of leading newspaper companies will do as they palnned and next morning all the news papers will sing Sury's name but in apa swaram.

In surya's house Surya is reading the newspaper and the headlines shock her since it is all about her dad and mom. Head lines says " Surya is searching for her father" " Is Surya's mother is the murderer of her own husband?"……..Maragatham comes there and SUrya throws the news paper to her and tells to read that. When Maragataham reads it she is also shocked and starts crying. Surya asks whether her mom can wipe this bad name with her tears and she also tell that the media does not know that her father is a murderer himself …if not they will start writing about that also.

Surya continues that her mom is not the one going out and meeting people and hence her mom does not know the pain Surya undergoes. Surya says" one side it is such shame due to you being so adamant and on the other side Archana is taunting me, why should I get all this punishment just for loving you all so sincerely? And you are keeping so quiet even after all this had happened, I have never seen such a selfish woman in life time. And for how many more days you are going to be like this. Please amma …please just tell me at least whether our father is alive or not? ….if you are still going to ne silent like this..then it is ok..I myself will find our and produce him in the court". Maragatham cries and tells that her dad is alive but she can not tell about that right now. As this conversation goes on telephone rings and Surya picks up.

The other side it was Lakshman and he sarcastically asks Surya why is she not thanking him for making her so popular with all those news headlines. He also so proudly says that it was all his work. ( they show him talking over the phone and Sandya sitting next to him and enjoying the conversation) Surya says

" Muttaal" and Laskhman shouts'" It is better to be a Muttaal ( fool) than living without father's initial in fornt of your name…when you have this much dirt to be washed in your own household why are you going around and finding cases…why don't you just tell your own story to the viewers …if I was in your place …I would not even dare show my face to anyone….ha ha ha"….Surya gets so furious and disconnects the phone.

In Surya's father's house his wife Abhirami is reading the newspaper and she was so engrossed in it. He comes there and asks what is the news and she narrates that a daring woman hides her husband for so many years and brought up her three daughters alone and now police is looking for him etc etc. He was shocked to hear and grabs the paper and start reading and was sad about the whole thing. Abhirami says bad thing about that woman….in that story and he gets angry with her and shouts at her and wanrs her not to talk bad about that lady anymore and leaves.

In the temple Surya and Nandini's mom are waiting for ponnu and maapillai ( Nandini and Ukiramoorthy) and a car comes and drops the couple to ne wedded. Surya asks iyer to bring the garlands.

Episode 34

Nandini looks happy and they exchange flower garlands and iyer brings Thaali and he asks everybody to take the akshathai from the thaambalam…..( colored rice from the tray) and everybody takes a little and when it comes to Surya a hand streches and takes the rice a fist full……and Surya turns to see the owner of that hand…..and it belongs to Mangai……Swarna's jaalra female police officer. Nandini gets scared and Ukiramoorthy, Surya, and Nandini's mom get shocked to see Mangai there.

Mangai asks SUrya," enna…you never espected me right? Yei…you will never be scared of anything at all?" Surya says," if your mind and thoughts are clean we can even face the God himself withour fear". Surya turn to iyer and asks him to get the thaali ready. At this point Nandini requests Surya to take the Thaali and give her and SUrya was so touched by that and she takes and nicely dangles that in front of Mangai and gives it to Ukiramoorthy. The wedding took place and Surya is very happy. She comes to mangai and asks why she is still having the Akshathai in her hand and why she did not throw it on the couple. Mangai grabs Suryas hand and she sprinkles the akshathai rice into her palm and she says," Nandini is not wearing santhosha maalai but saavu maalai and this is not vaazhthara arisi but vaaikkarisi,…..these people have started their life on a battle field and if possible let them live and show to the world"……Mangai leaves and Nandini's mom was so scared and asks Surya about Mangai and Surya tells her to ignore Mangai and she assures that everything will be alright. She also tells her to pray to Amman for the newly wedded couple.
In the police station Ravi is beating up a man for committing some crime of eve teasing. He comes to his table abd sits and a man comes in and introduces himself as inspector Selvaraj from Ootty. He tells that he is there to see Ravi regarding a photo which Ravi sent to his station. Hearing this Ravi was so excited and asks him to proceed. Inspector Selvaraj tells that this man died in a car accident before 8 years in Ootty, the car was driven by that man and the car rolled down into the valley which is 800 feet deep and he died and his wife came to the station and collected the things found in that area which belonged to her dead husband and he tells that woman's name was Sharadha. Now Ravi gets more confused….and he tells Selvaraj that in the case what they are dealing the wife's name is Maragatham. Selvaraj says that he knows that dead man and his family well and someone has cheated them by giving a wrong person's photo just to confuse the police. Ravi gets angry about being cheated by Maragatham.

In Nandini's house the newly married couple are waiting for Surya's arrival. Some travel bags are packed and kept ready. Ukiramoorthy asks Nandini where her mother is and Nandini says that since they are going to travel her mom went to the temple to pray for our safe journey and she can be picked up on their way after Surya comes. Ukkiramoorthy tells Nandini that she has suffered so much even before the wedding and she tolerated all with a smiling face and he promises her that he will keep her happy always. Surya comes and asks whether they are ready to leave. UM asks her where they are going and Surya says sorry and then she tells that they are going to Ootty to her friend Geetha and they will be staying in Geetha's bunglow. Surya also assures that Geetha will take good care of them.

At this point Nandini asks Surya whether it is necessary for them to leave this city at all and Surya says that it is absolutely necessary because Swarna will start to give troble for them. Nandini says that she feels sad to leave to a new place leaver her. But Surya consoles her by telling that she will be happy with her husband wherever she goes and ask them to hurry up.

In Surya's fathers house, he is sitting and thinking so deep about the whole situation and suddenly his manasatchi comes out and starts talking to him. " dei Vasudeva..( atlast we come to know his name) what are you doing to your life? You are leading a fake life by hiding like this. Think about Maragatham da….ava paavam and she is suffering this much because of you. If you are concerned about her even a little roght now you should go and surrender yourself to the police to make rest of the life of Maragatham to be peaceful. Go Vasudeva …go right now and surrender…..dei….don't think again…just go"…….then the manasatchi goes off…..

Vasudevan picks up the phone and calls the Sp's office. In Sp's office Ravi and Sp are dicussing about the news Selvaraj brought. The phone rings and SP picks up and Vasudevan introduces himself as Maragatham's husband and he says that he wants to surrender. Sp asks when and where he will surrender and Vasu says that he is coming to his office itself. Sp disconnects the photne and tells Ravi about the whole conversation and he asks Ravi to inform Maragatham and tell her to come to the station to identify Vasu Devan.

Ravi calls Surya and she picks up….and when she hears Ravi on the other side for a moment she was happy but Ravi's voice comes as a thunder…"this is Inspector Ravi speaking" …and Surya also says' " sollunga inspector sir" Ravi asks her to come to the station with her mom since her dad is going to surrender and they have to identify him….Surya is shocked and she disconnects the phone line. Margatham comes there and Surya that she can not hide a fire under a heap of hay for too long and she tells about Ravi's phone call and ask her tom get ready to go to the station. Maragatham was shocked and surprised to hear this.

In the paryer room of his house Vasudevan ( surya's dad) is praying and begging god to take care of his wife Abhirami in his absence and to keep her away from her greedy relatives.. He goes to Abhirami's bedside ( she is sleeping) and sits there and tells her to forgive him and he might not be coming back to see her at all. He cries and tells that he married her only to safeguard him from the police …and he cries a lot and he leaves.   ;   ;

Meanwhile Maragatham tries to call Vasu but can get get thru. And once when she gets the line Surya comes there and she disconnects. Surya asks her to hurry up since she can not wait to see her dad.

They leave and reach the Sp's office where Sp and Ravi are waiting for Maragatham. SP asks Maragatham about the photograph she gave to RAvi and she still keeps on telling that he is her husband. Sp get furious and and tells her all the info which they got from Inspector Selvaraj and he says Maragatham may be punished severely for misguiding the police.

Vasu is in his car going towards police station. His phone rings and the call was from Abhirami's house, the servant maid was on the other side. She tells that Abhirami had fits and asks him to come immediately and Vasu was so worried for Abhirami and he promises her that he will reach there soon.

Maragatham refuses to believe their story and she tells that there is no doubt in her mind about her husband. At this point Ravi asks Maragatham if the man in the photograph is your husband then who is the man who phoned us telling that he is going to surrender. Maragatham says that may be some one else is trying to misguide you by telling that they want to surrender.

Vasu Devan is with a doctor who is checking Abhirami.Doctor tells Vasu that Abhirami's condition is very critical and she has to be brought to the hospital as soon as possible and doctor leaves.

Vasu looks so worried and confused and he walks to the phone and calls SP's office and tells SP that it is not possible for him to surrender and disconnects. Sp gets furious and tells Ravi about the phone call from Vasu. Hearing this Maragatham was very happy and she tells," Even now I am telling that the man in the photograph is my husband" and she leaves. After Maragatham and Surya leaves Ravi takes the phone and tells the oprerator to trace Vasu's call and he promises SP that they can catch him soon.

In Shakunthala Devi's house she and her son are talking about Archana. She asks where is Archana and Ashok tells that she went to the nearby temple. SD tells Ashok to act normal with Archana and not to show any hatred ness towards her and to wait until the correct time. Ashok tells that he simply tolerates Archana just for her sake otherwise he would have left Archana a long time back.

SD says that if you do that Archana's family members will get her aborted and they will get her married to someone and she and others will be very happy about the whole thing. Instead of that we keep her for some more time and then throw her out from here sothat she can not abort and end up delivering the baby and live whole live as a single mother. At this point her brother comes and joins the conversation and he asks whether there is going to be a wedding for Ashok and Archana and SD laughs and tells him that he is a fool even to think that way. At this point Ravi comes there with a photograph and asks whether SD recognizes the man in the photo and he also tells that the man in the photo is Maragatham's husband. SD was shocked to hear that and she tells that it is not her husband and she is cheating the police. Ravi leaves.

In Ravi's house telephone rings and Ravi's mom picks up and on the other side Ravi's father says " hello Raaji"………

( this man is the same man as SD's husband who SD claims that Maragatham mudered her husband. In SD house his photo is hanging and everyday SD prays to this photo….so the same man in two versions……1. Ravi's living father, 2. Shakunthals Devi's dead husband)

The telephone conversation continues, Ravi's dad tells his wife that he is soon coming to Chennai and he will be settling down there with Ravi and her permanently but he is not able to tell about the exact date of his arrival but he promises that as soon he fixes the hourney he will let her know. He asks about Ravi and Raji tells that he is fine and he is also expecting his dad'd arrival there soon. He smiles….and……..

Ravi's dad tells his wife that he is soon coming to Chennai and he will be settling down there with Ravi and her permanently. He asks about Ravi and Raji tells that he is fine and he is also expecting his dad's arrival there soon.

Maragatham comes by an auto and gets down in front of her house . She carries a big packet which is covered with brown paper. It is a blown up photograph of the man whom Maragatham claims that her husband. She tells Surya and Aishwarya that they can now tell the whole world that this is their father. She wants everybody to know about this fact and that is the reason she made a big size photo and has kept in the hall.



Maragatham goes inside. Surya and Aish come to the photo to have a closer look. They stare at each other with a puzzled look on their faces.

In Shakunthala Devi's house her brother is watering plants. SD comes with a small shopping bag in her hand. He asks her where she went. SD says that she went to the shop to buy saree for Archana's mom. Her brother gets confused hearing this. Sd explains that it is their duty to go and visit Naragatham and give the white sareee she bought. All these years Maragatham did not know that her husband was dead. Now Maragatham knows that she is a widow so it is her duty to see that Maragatham dresses like a widow. Telling this Sd gives a villain smile. She adds that this will be a good lesson for her si nce she keeps on telling lies about her husband.
As they both laugh happily. SD notices that Archana is coming towards them. Quickly she asks her brother to stop and tells that saniyan is coming. She tells Archana to go and get ready to go to her mothers place. Archana gives a surprised look at SD. Sd says that what ever happened in between the two families it is ok. That is the time to go and console Archana's mom. Sd also suggests to Archana that she should give the saree she bought for her mom . She takes a pure white saree from the bag and gives it to Archana. SD says that it is Archana's duty as a daughter to put some sense into her mother's head regarding the dress code of a widow.

Sandya and Lakshman from Channel 3 open Surya's house gate and go to the door. They both seem to be on duty since they carry microphone and camera. Aishwarya comes out and they ask for her mom. She goes in and Surya and Maragatham come out. Seeing these two people Surya was shocked. Sandya says that they are there to interview her mom. Surya was surprised to hear this and she ask about what they want the interview.
Lakshman says that the interview is about her dad and they were told by the police that her dad is a murderer.

Surya asks them whether their MD is aware of their visit to her place. Lakshman tells that he is surprised to hear this question from Surya since she knows the rules of the Channel that they can not bring the official mic and camera out without getting proper permission.
Surya tells them that Maragatham can not give any interview at all and also asks them to leave immediately.

At this point Sandya asks Surya ," how come rules are different for your mother andmy mother. Do you remember my mother who committed suicide because you took interview and telecasted that without her permission. Today you are in the same place where I stood once without knowing the name of the father. Your mother is also in the position as my mom was" Surya was shocked to hear all this and she realizes who Sandya is. Sandya continue," Is it painful for you? Yes…the same kind of pain I suffer due to you after my mother's death. I want you to have this pain for you permanently" Sandya leaves followed my Lanskman.

Maragatham starts to go inside and Surya stops her. Surya tells that Maragathan is the sole responsible person for what happened there. It is such a shame and she asks what is Maragatham's answer for this. Maragatham says that she is not to be blamed for this at all and she goes in.


In SUrya's office she walks into the office of her MD. Sandya and Lakshman are already there which Surya never expected. MD asks Surya whether it is true what Sandya Lakshman say. Surya says that they both came to their house and insulted her mom and her. MD says "they both want to help you and that is the reason they came to interview your mother with good intension" Surya refuses, " No sir, they have some misunderstanding about me and with that vengeance in their mind they came to my house to interview my mother" The argument goes on and MD gets so furious and warn all the three to behave like professionals and he leaves.




Surya says to Sandya that Lakshman is responsible for her mother's death.Surya asks her instead of punishing him why Sandya is simply blaming her. Sandya refuses to believe Surya. Surya says," If you are trusing this man so much …it is ok..but later on don't blame me that I did not warn you about him" She leaves. Sandya and Lakshman join hand and laugh.



In her prison cell Swarna is laughing like a crazy woman. She laughs so laud and goes on claaping her hands………

In her prison cell Swarna is laughing like a crazy woman. She laughs so loud and goes on clapping her hands….. She is thinking of the news paper news and how Surya must be worried etc. Suddenly she stops and walks to the Jail warden Padmavathi who is standing out side the room. Swarna tells that she is so happy that Surya is suffering. Padma says that Surya is the talk of town and God is really punishing her. Swarna says that she never has faith in God and she trusts only herself. She wants to go Surya's grave when she is released from the prison. She tells Padma that she wants to meet Shakunthala Devi as soom as possible.

SD and Archana enter Surya's house. Aishwarya comes and Archana asks where her mother is. Aishwarya was surprised to hear Archana talk like this. SD notices the photo of Maragatham's "husband" and asks Archana to put the garland. Archana puts the garland to the photo. At this point Maragatham comes there and was shocked to see them there. SD asks Archana to give that saree to her mom. Archana takes the saree from the bag and gives to Maragatham and says ," Ini melaavathu nee ithaiye kattikko amma.All these years, you have been dressing like this with out knowing that dad is dead. Now that you know that he is no more there is no need for you to dress like a sumangali"

😡I have to tell here about Archana……she does not act well in such situation…..she tells the sentences without even any feelings in her voice and face….whereas her co stars Maragatham, Sd and even Aishwarya show so much of expression and passion on their faces and there is so much of body languages but not in Archana's acting…when ever she talks her lines I get remided of a bold KG student telling nursery rhymes 😡)

Archana keeps taunting her mom by asking," when you don't have your thali kattina purushan why should you have this thaali, when you don't have kannu niranja purushan why should you have this colorful saree, this pottu and flowers do not belong to you any more. Ah……when is the ceremony and what should I do for that……"
( During this whole conversation….Sd was enjoying each word uttered by Archana to her mom…….where as Aishwarya was so shocked and sad for her mom ……..and I….was slapping Archana in my mind……..too much……..)
Maragatham asks Archana to get out and SD gets angry with Maragatham. She asks Maragatham as her sambanthi she came to visit her and to ask when is the ceremony held to wipe away her kungumam and to throw her flowers away. She reminds Maragatham when a husband dies it is the duty of every wife to do this. Aishwarya shouts at them and tells that they are not having any sadangu and ask them to leave. At this point Surya comes there asking why should they go. She says that in this matter she is with Archana and SD. She also asks her mom when to keep the sadangu. Maragatham did not expect this from Surya. She was shocked and runs inside crying followed by Aishwarya. Surya turns to Sd and Archana and ask them to leave immediately. Surya takes the garland from the photo and throws it on the floor along with the white saree Archana brought.

Archana is sitting in the car and Sd is about to get in. Padmavathi comes there and informs to Sd that industrialist Swarna madam wants to meet her. SD is puzzled to hear this. Archana tells her that she knows Swarna. She is also a victim of Surya and she suggests that it is better to go and meet Swarna.

In the prison visiting chamber Swarna meets Sd and Archana. Padma introduces them to Swarna and Swarna asks her to leave. Swarna with so much baanda tells that she wanted to meet SD since for both of them Surya is the target. But Sd refuses to be a partner with her. Swarna gets so annoyed. SD leaves and Archana is leaving Swarna stops her and tells that in her enemies list her mother in law's name is added. Archana screams at her and leaves from there.

It is 5 in the morning, Surya wakes up and wakes Aishwarya up. Surya comes out and shocked to see her mom in white saree. Aishwarya comes there and she also was surprised to her mom like that. Both of them feel very bad. Maragatham stands in front of that photo and stares at that………
