@Saffi: I love how u always come up saying its Ekta!!🤣

On your post...I agree on Ishita!! Raman atleast confront with pros and cons but Ishita always end up blasting everyone right there!! Shez very much impulsive but her intentions were always good!! Today her outburst was completely justified cuz any sane woman would outrage the guy who talk shit about them!! Again, she should completely understand Raman regarding Ruhi rather than accusing him...hez afterall Ruhi's father!!

I don't agree. I personally do not think that the characters have been butchered. They're still consistent. You people are perhaps omitting the fact that Raman-Ishita has a hate relationship, and when they lash at each other's, they can go to any length to do it. Both Raman-Ishita have been harsh to one another in that scene, degrading each other. LOL

True both have been hurling insults at each other by misunderstandings & due to circumstances. Both are characterized like sadakchap chaman chor with few instance of matured & sensible behaviour thus far, yeh character butchering nahi toh kya hai? 😕

Plus, it's not all of a sudden's theres this fatherly love blossoming for Ruhi. It has been shown midly in the show that Raman loves his daughter but he ain't able to express it somehow. Ruhi's absence is making him realised how much he misses her and love her. Let's not forget the flash back moments when Raman adored Ruhi when she was a kid, such love doesn't die that fast.

Correct, it was also said that he used to live in Mumbai for X number of yrs while Ruhi was growing up. Ishita sunaofied him for not talking to his daughter in earlier episode & tonight Ruhi is telling her friends that she speaks to her dad everyday

LOL I have too much experience with Ekta that's why I constantly bring it up. It's self-explanatory when you remind yourself that this show is by the wonderful Ekta Kapoor.

Yes, that's what I mean. Whatever Raman was trying to do was for Ruhi, and I'm fine with that. The only conflicting things were:

  • He was never shown attached to Ruhi, and today's breakdown seemed to come out of nowhere. Where was all this emotional sadness when Ruhi went running to Raman at the court? I'm not against Raman breaking down. In fact, it would be a redeeming quality if he did, but they should have built up to it. Today's scene felt kind of "in your face" and unrealistic.
  • The argument he makes (or the CVs are showing us) is that he could do anything for Ruhi... except use Mihir to testify against Shagun since it's pretty obvious that Shagun is his sister. So Mihir means more to him than Ruhi then?

And about Ishita, a few more things:

  • How did she know that Raman was the one who sent her sister's mother in law there? That was a complete assumption. Imagine how stupid she would have seemed if Ashok or someone else sent her.
  • It's fine that she's attached to Ruhi, but she IS an outsider and she has no rights to even be involved in this case. She should have denied the responsibility to the judge (by the way, only in Ektaland, judges make these weird decisions). And she has no right to criticize Raman or Shagun about their parenting because they're Ruhi's parent's, NOT Ishita. She is in no way related to Ruhi at all right now. It would be one thing if Raman/Shagun were behaving in extreme manners with Ruhi (such as abuse), but there has been nothing like this shown.

In fact, I'm on Raman's side today, and not Ishita's. He shouldn't have used Ishita's sister's MIL but he's a very practical thinker. All Ishita does is unreasonably accuse (Ekta heroines once again). She has accused Raman for numerous things that just don't make sense and from experience, she will continue to accuse him.

Hmmm well in my opinion ... firstly both KP and DT were excellent... forgetting everything else they did a superb job.. such fire and intensity 👏
Now as for characters... they both asked for it...both aggravated it... Raman does love his daughter ... just as Ishita... only difference is Raman is unable to express while Ishita can and his past scars from Shagun make him pull his hand away from Ruhi every time he comes close... evidence is from flashbacks how he cared for his kids and then the crying alone at nights... today his strong shell he created just broke hence the break down
Raman I believe is very straight forward... he thinks practically and is shrewd. he will do what is principally correct for him if he has the power to do so... yes his calling whatever-her-name-is and using her against Ishita... intentions were not bad 👍🏼 but the way was definitely 👎🏼
So this brought on the anger in Ishita... she said quite a lot which I would consider going beyond limits with a stranger... no one has the right to comment on Raman's personal life/his married life... but I understand where her anger came from ... the root ... and of course Raman had to retaliate and he did and told her to back off ... she was right in defending herself I liked when she said ' I just came but what have you done in 5 years' when he said I could have done more for my daughter... Though Ishita time and again just acts in the spur of moment.. like I think Raman wanted to explain his actions when she walks in but Jhansi ki rani just went for his throat
so all in all both asked for it... there had to be a face off and hence a heated argument

I don't blame Raman for being manipulative, particularly in this situation that he is in. Had Ishita or any woman been in his shoes and had her child ripped from her by a total stranger who was apparently now plotting w/ the ex to keep them separated, that woman would go completely unhinged. Raman, in contrast, does show some limits: he could easily have thrown Mihir, for example, to jail so that the Iyers were happy w/ him & willing to persuade Ishita to support him. But he didn't.

While Ishita isn't manipulative either, what she does lack is a sense of propriety - not to interfere in other people's business. That's the main reason why Raman has so many problems w/ her.

same with Ishita's character too... she could able to justify other's acts but not Raman's... She could give a benefit of doubt to Shagun even though she saw somethings with her own eyes... but she simply jump into conclusions only with raman n related... why???? and she always pokes him by saying no woman would live with him for a day too... both the characters r confused in my thinking... they r held up in situations , that's all i could say...
Raman actually trully cares for woman... but with ishita, he doesn't like her interference...in his daughter's case... whre Ishita doesn't even know about his past , and what happened btwn him n shagun...

I think he is really complex character and i like him!

while he is all emotional, protective of his immediate family and close one's despite of their flaws (which included his ex-wife Shagun as well!) he is totally distrustful of the rest of the world because of the betrayal he has faced from his own wife and his mentor. He has learnt from his experiences that the only way to succeed in buisness and life is to be ruthless ambitious and mean or u will trounced upon and used and exploited by ppl like Ashok and Shagun.
while he is clear and firm with his morals, he can bend rules to achieve his means when he sees a threat on his closed ones!
So thr, u can adore him for the way he is, or hate him for what he shows to the world!
I wonder what wud b it like wen such deep, thoughtful, sensible and wise character like Ishita enters his life.. changes his world and his thinking..😳
Ishita though is sentimental is very much practical girl, Raman weras is a passionate emotional man, he is extreme and gray shaded. Ishita is righteous and would always support the truth without any prejudice, can see the bigger picture. Raman is opposite of Ishita. he is confined in his own shell, extremely prejudiced and has some hardwired notions abt loving and trusting someone! I dont think so he could ever trust a strange like Ishita so easily! He has seen the worst side of a woman its hard for him to believe that women like Ishita do exist in today's society!😳
Love their jodi thr chemistry is so sizzling!

Hi everyone, gone through all discussion.. nd really intresting POV of all.. so far as I concerned, I love ths complex character of Raman Bhalla..

Firstly I give credit to KP who is doing simply fab job in portraying the complex character of 'Raman Bhalla'.. He was jst brilliant in displaying varied emotions in the last epi .. Father-daughter tele convo was the highlight of the show and KP was at his best in tht scene..

Raman & Ishita are two contrasting personalities and both of them have diffrent idologies towards life.. But one thing is very common in their persona.. that is Prejudice against each other..

Raman is very nice, kind hearted, sophisticated humanbeing from inside but on the surface he show worst nature of his.. Specially to Ishita.. He pretends to be self centred, cold, bitter, egoistic and shrewd.. and ths is understandable.. his ex-wife's betrayal has manipulated his good senses.. He is kind of compelled not to trust any woman.. Presently he is on a verge of losing custody of his only child. And he knows that Ishita and he share a mutual feeling towards each otoher and that is intensive disliking ( Not haterad as I find it very strong word)..
Presently he is only concerned in getting custody of his beloved daughter Ruhi.. and any man of his flesh (who is betrayed nd heart broken) will do all in his power nd will go to any extent to get back the only person who is matter the most in his life.. Though his behaviour towards Ishita was very awful in the last epi, it was graspable. (atleast to me)..
