Dil friends chahta hai

"Samir and Vikram, who play my friends in this serial, are also my good friends in real life. And Rohit Roy and Sudhanshu Pandey complete the circle. We spend a lot of time together.

They drop in at my house regularly. We order takeaways, watch DVDs and discuss films. With Rohit and Sudhanshu and their wives in tow, we party a lot."

Every Thursday is Boys Night out. We frequent Olive or the Marriot — wives strictly prohibited. We have been close for many years. When Rohit got married, I dropped the couple home.

Unlike my casanova character in the serial, I am more like the name Ram. My friends keep encouraging me to meet other women but I am not ready for a relationship.

In the serial I try to stop my ex-wife from marrying again, but in real life, I would not do so. When a relationship sours, it is not a good idea to stay in touch because it delays the moving on.

Sleeping around (purely for physical pleasure) has no meaning. For me it is very important to be emotionally involved before I share a physical relationship with the person. I am a die hard romantic despite my share of broken relationships.

In spite of us (friends) getting offers to be pitted against each other in plays and serials, not a single project has materialized. Are we jinxed? I wonder. Now I have a script for a play co-starring Rohit, let's see if things pan out.

Rohit is 'King', Sudhanshu is 'Prince' and I, according to them, am 'the wise old man'. We get along with each other because we have distinctly different personalities.

Sudhanshu, Rohit and I along with Ronit and his wife, Neelam even walked from Versova to Siddhi Vinayak, Prabhadevi. We left at midnight and reached in time for the morning aarti.

The boys from Dil Kya Chahta Hai

For Sudhanshu's birthday (on August 22), we drove down to a dhaba and stayed till the restaurant shut down. At times, we ask Sudhanshu to sing for us since he is part of the Band Of Boys music team.

He sings the Dil Se number very well. We have impromptu dinner parties where Manasi makes excellent continental food.

We work as a reality check on each other. Rohit and I are avid cricket enthusiasts. When a match is underway, we keep 'SMS'ing scores to each other.

I am very reserved by nature. If I party, it's because my friends and their wives make me feel comfortable. I am the only man my friends trust their wives with.

Thanks to my friends, I don't miss my family. To tell you the truth, I don't even hanker for a relationship."

Sudhanshu Pandey:
"Samir must be using his acting skills to the fullest to make a convincing playboy —he is not like that, at all. Sometimes Rohit and I do cry on Samir's shoulder, especially when we have a fight with our respective wives. Samir, occasionally says: 'I wish, like you guys, I had someone to fight with.'"

"Samir is one of my favourite people. I have been unsuccessfully trying to match-make for him for a long time now. But I guess he is looking for an ideal woman — someone who is classy and would prove to be a long term soulmate."

He is such a good actor and and the first time I saw him was in Milan with mouli. If anyone decides to watch it its only a 4-video tapes, but its pretty good.
