Finally the battle started!

The Jhelum crossing was weird. Why did they wade across if they rode on boats later on anyway?

The rain was so fake that Alexander's hair remained dry, but at least the CVs are trying to show us a stormy river crossing. The sun rose and the land + people dried up instantly. 😆

I wonder what Bamni is going to do, maybe kill Hephaestion, who was fighting with a vengeance. Interestingly enough, he told his men to fight for their Shah.

Rohit was awesome as usual - the knife and spear throwing scenes were great. Seleucus might be the one to kill Porus after all.

Porus for once looked stunned, and probably just a little worried seeing the Macedonian army there. Hasti is going to die. The ambush in the forest reminded me a bit of Alexander's intro battle tactics against the Thracians, but poorly filmed this time round. 😕

Dhananand had some pretty awesome dialogues. Lagta hai is show mein baddies ko hi acche lines miltey hain. Amatya Rakshas doesn't seem like a villain yet but let's see.

Pre-cap: Chanakya is trying to do what exactly? Also, they showed the same precap as in a previous skirmish between Alexander and Porus.

Chalo koi nahin, at least we're getting the final final battle. 😆

Also, the spear reminded me of the scene where Alexander threw a spear across the sea before the Battle of Granicus.

I think he was referring more to destroying Porus from within. He wants to go to the north because that's where Alexander has started his approach. He knows Porus would be expecting him to provide backup while the rest of the Bharati soldiers go to the south to fight against Hephaestion's troops. So he will end up either deserting Porus or just watching from the sidelines as Porus's army gets decimated by Alexander's, since Porus doesn't seem to have too many men with him.

Dhananand doesn't like Alexander much either and I think his threat to Alexander if he crossed the river was genuine. He isn't interested in helping the Macedonians, because they will come for him next and he thinks he's powerful enough to fend them off, but he isn't interested in helping Porus win against Alexander either.

In real history Alexander didn't fight against Magadh so let's see what happens here. Dhananand can be quite unpredictable sometimes. It's amazing (but not surprising) how confident Alexander was by the time he had crossed the river that Magadh wouldn't support Porus. He knew how well he had played them mind games against Dhananand and put his knowledge of Porus' overconfidence to good use here.

I think Seleucus is gradually being "groomed" by the CVs as Alexander's worthy successor. I think he's going to be ferocious in this battle and will earn the right to govern Bharat after Alexander leaves.

There should be a leap at some point, but in the meantime Seleucus will consolidate power (if this is shown), have an uneasy cease fire against Magadh, and maybe even fall in love in the meantime, waiting for CGM to grow up. 😆

I want them to teach Chanakya a lesson, though. Maybe Seleucus will be the one to do it, because Alexander has been unsuccessful at it.
