I agree, he was born to play Alexander. I just can't imagine anyone else doing this role or playing Alexander in a way other than what we've seen so far. It has been a great showcase of Rohit's talent where he got to portray a wide range of emotions. I have to give it to the creatives for providing him the environment to perform, especially the entire Macedonian setup. Choosing Rohit was definitely one of the best decisions Sid T made, and saying yes was definitely one of Rohit's best. He really grabbed this opportunity and made it something else altogether. I can just imagine that other PHs are already eyeing him for future projects. I think everyone here agrees that if he'd had more screen time, this show would have been at an entirely other level.
@Taherav, I've also watched that interview of Rohit's where he said this role has been beyond any dream role he had ever imagined. If he's doing a tough role like Alexander so mind-blowingly well, can you imagine him in other roles? Wow! I can't wait, and I do hope he won't make us wait too long for his next project. There are thousands of fans, like you and me, who've discovered Rohit through this series and he's made a spectacular first impression. I am sure they have already been looking for his previous shows. As Mirza he gained a huge female fan following but with Alexander Rohit has not just grown that but also made thousands of new male fans who admire and idolize him. Because the episodes are uploaded on youtube, people from all over the world are watching and commenting about him, all the way to Tanzania even! I am glad that I didn't give up on this show and continued to watch it if only just for Alexander's scenes. It's been a great pleasure seeing Rohit grow with his character. Even now, I go back and watch the old episodes and I never cease to be amazed by how many shades he's played already in the limited screen time he's gotten.
@Vicariously, let's not kid ourselves - his eyes are probably his greatest asset and he uses them very well to emote. 😆 In theory, there's no reason why he couldn't have kept his natural eye color if he had played Porus, of course. Agree with you, his voice modulation is superb! As for his hair color, as I said earlier, this is the first of his shows that I've watched so I was introduced to him as a blonde. Of course, I knew it wasn't natural but the first and only impression I had of him was blonde hair, green eyes, and ferocious expression on his face. That image has stuck so when I later saw him in other roles or past interviews with his original hair it was a bit weird for me. I think he rocks both anyway! Very few actors, if any, would have had the dedication to dye their hair for such a long period of time for a TV show. Kudos! He needs a few good hair spa treatment sessions to restore the texture of his hair after the show is over considering the damage done to it due to the styling.
Just like Alexander he has proved over and over again the power of tadbeer. He has shown us the true meaning of quality versus quantity. Every performance of his leaves us wanting an ENCORE!!! I'm sure if Rohit had played Porus he would have been just as convincing with his own completely different take on the character.
