Instead of going all the way to Faras to get Alexander ke Darshan I would have loved it if Puru had -
1.Stayed back in PR and crushed Kanishk and Shivdutt
2.Learnt some politics and prepare his army
3.Tried to gather allies for Alexander's upcoming invasion.You already know that Alexander has massive forces.How would you stop him?? By strengtheing yourself and increasing your troops of coz.
4.Kept a tab on Alexander's whereabouts through SPIES.That's what spies are for.

After watching Puru I feel that he still doesn't understand the responsibilities of being a prince and the future ruler of a kingdom.As the prince you need to be close to your subjects in order to protect them.
You don't have the luxury to go off to adventures in foreign countries and risk your life.

Does he realise the repercussions of them being caught?I don't know what Alexander will do but any other man would have killed his entire gang along with him.
The reason why the others accompanied him was not just to keep him in check but to make him understand that he has the responsibility of all these people on his shoulders.People who care for him and people for whom he cares.He just cannot take any risks in their case.
