On alexander serials & movies were made but film or tv serials makers were restraining themselves 2 make serial or film on poras coz they dont have much knowledge about him, about drama , friction , historical drama r diff serials where drama should be limited as 2 much drama kills historical serials. In serials from months puru is fighting an emperor who never invaded india , who never came 2 india during his reign. It was Darius 1 who invaded india, during his time puru was not born , puru is busy fighting Darius 3 who never came 2 india. King of Persia is so free that he spending vacations in pourav rashtra for very long god know who is managing his Persia state affairs.
If siddharth kumar tiwari was not ready with d story of poras why he launced serial while saying content is inspired by Greek scholars , which Greek scholors wrote such a drama 4 legend poras

Previously even I used to get affected and appalled with the manner in which the Indian production houses treated the historical dramas.
But after watching Korean and Chinese historical dramas which showed even bigger distortions and yet they were accepted coz of they were presented well and were entertaining,I have realised that we shouldn't become so sensitive about stuff like this.
There exists a genre called pseudo historicals. All the current historicals belong to that genre.

This is why I don't mind any distortion as long as they stay true to basic historical essence, theme and high point of the show.
For example in Ashoka's case the high points were the Kalinga War and his Buddhism practices. But CAS omitted that only due to which the post leap CAS was a colossal disaster.
Pre leap CAS had a lot of distortions too but it was awesome till Chanakya's death.
In Porus' case the most crucial point is the Battle of Hydaspes.
As long as they don't mess that up its all right.

Also Porus is not the first historical drama to show distortions and it won't be the last.Today it's Porus tomorrow it will be Samudragupta and day after it will be Krishnadevaraya 😆But this is not gonna stop. The producers need to make money and we need quality entertainment on TV.Everything said and done these historicals/mythos/periodic dramas are an oasis in an age where saas bahu shows are ruling ITV.

So I don't mind any distortion as long as the characters and story is well written, the central theme is properly executed and the entertainment value is intact.😛

I agree with u but there r historical show where drama is very limited but still it got successful like dharti ka veer yodha prithviraj chauhan, incidents were mostly true but it was presented drammatically, chandragupta maurya ndtv imagine wgat a wonderful serial bond of cgm & chanakya had been shown so perfectly , veer shivaji mostly his life incident r true.
I dont relate with this current puru at all , king cant be emotional 4 anyone, he always point finger on bamini 4 not being a gud king yes he is not a gud king but do puru is fit 2 be a king. He knows hasti is wrong if ripudaman was alive he would had never supported hasti , puru is failing his teaching then also voluntary accepting death on behalf of hasti who shamed ripudaman. I m sure he will ran away what else they can show.

Distortions are nowadays part of every historical show but yeah that Darius V/s puru thing is now getting boring. its good until they portray Battle nicely.
