To be honest, watching porus has become more of a chore to me. I'm not liking the pace of the show...it is very slow. The story doesn't even move for many episodes...I myself get bored with dragging and repetitive scenes of every character.

The screenplay needs to be made better in the show...but none of the actors are to be blamed for it. Rati's doing a great job with whatever she's given and rest of the cast is doing good too. You personally may or may not like any character in the show but I feel all actors are doing justice to their characters.

As someone who has followed her since her first show I will say that she is doing total justice to her character. She is one of the finest actresses in the industry.
It's just due to the repetitive scenes that it feels annoying.Apart from that I think all the actors are perfect for their respective characters.

Does not matter. It has become highly irritating and acting comes across clearly over acting specially on Rati. Whose fault it is? Clearly the Director's fault. the actors will do what they were asked to do but director has to imagine himself sitting among the audience and feel the boredom and accordingly should should speed where it is needed and tone down the over the top acting when needed. No need to blame actors I agree completely there. In any case it is my opinion that a good actor should know his limits of acting and should do the balancing act. Indian serials tend to have this type of irritating scenes many a time that i have noticed. Not necessary at all.

I dont believe overacting is directors fault...its actor fault only. But Rati Pandey isnt overacting as ansuya...on the contrary she is completely doing justice to her character. You want her character to tame down...how a person who is not mentally stable tames down i dont get. She is already not shown shouting everywhere...she is already much more calm then people suffering from such things actually are. The story is going slow...but that doesnt mean actors arent doing justice to their characters.

Rati's acting seems ok to me but scenes are getting really repetitive and dragging. I don't connect that well with Anasuya as a character. The character started out well but somewhere became too preachy and now stuck in this melodramatic tragic phase.

in my opinion the directors are the ones in driver seat. they can tone it down speed it or whatever and spare us from watching the torture. And Rati is definitely good actress but going over the board some times for sure. That is just my opinion.

I agree with what you said about Anusuya's character. But hopefully now in today's episode she did got her memory abour ripudaman back, hopefully this will trigger rest of her memory and we will get over this mad Anusuya. However whenever they have shown son and mother interactions, I have liked it.

To the questioner of this debate.
Dear fellow... I'm a fan of the actor Rati Pandey. But apart from that I too felt RP's role has unnecessarily been dragging and lagging one. First, let me share an overall view of the performances of some characters. Once in an interview the director of "porus" Mr. Sidharth Kumar Tewary remarked that Shivdutt is the most annoying one on the set as he always overacts, especially he mentioned about Shivdutts expressions with eyes which is so unbearable for the director himself. If he's understood this fact, why did he cast him? And about the title character, what is actually that guy is doing? Is he acting or telling the viewers that he's acting.. just observe his acting keenly.. his body language, his mannerisms.. how sophisticated he is! seriously laksh isn't apt for this role and that's the biggest blunder the director has done by selecting him since it is the title role which has to be chosen carefully. The foreign side, on the other hand, is acting decently so far, be it Alexander Darius Philip or Olympia all of them are doing an excellent job. Here in "Bharat" most of the characters cannot impress the audience except a few. First 12 episodes of this tv series were just perfect in most of its entertainment aspects. But now the show has lost its charm. That's an undeniable truth which even made me to skip some episodes. Hope it'll rediscover the charm soon. And coming back to Rati Pandey's acting, I can't find any novelty in her present condition since she's given the same monotonous scenes and has got nothing to do something new. That's a fact they're just lagging her eccentricity. So of course anyone will get bored, I agree to that point but it doesn't mean Rati Pandey is overacting. You can't expect an insane person to have more dialogues all the time, more screen space since the story revolves around Puru. She just precisely does what the story or the scene demands and she's doing a good job within the drawbacks of the script and the pace of show. And as you said only the director can steer his actors well as in he has to analyse and judge them in a spectator's view. What the show is actually lacking, how it goes on, and where the actors did mistakes.. that's why we call him director or the captain of the ship! And it is our right to express our take on the show coz it is us who make it blockbuster or disaster. And of course this is a tv show, we can't expect much as I realised it later like I always mentioned that it's a movie it's a movie now it has become a typical melodrama without any innovative ideas as we simply can predict what will happen next.. it was not the case in the beginning, but now, after each episode we can assume what will happen next..Btw, I appreciate some points though I completely disagree to ur main argument. (Personally Rp is the sole reason for me to watch this show. And when she is no more in the show, 60% of the viewers won't be interested in watching it. I swear! Coz that's the calibre n potential of a versatile actor named Rati Pandey n one of the attractive elements that viewers get inclined to "Porus")
