First and foremost, give the characters their dignity back.
TVS on his return (and return he will) dealing with Suman and telling Bhusan to be more decisive and stand up for what is right, telling the family that Reva tried to have him killed (explantion via Champa flashback) and making a deal with her that he will not hand her over to the police provided she signs the divorce papers and writes and signs a onfession and leaves and stays away from the family. If she ever does anything against the family he will give the confession to the police and she will be in jail. Reva agrees and leaves.
Then put the script back within the settings of the show. This show is set in Budlekhunda, Madya Pradesh India. This is still a very male dominated evironment.
I am all for showing women being strong and fighting for their rights but this needs to be shown in context which means showing these women as intellgent but also realistic about what they can acheive themselves and when they need help.
Eg. We should see Champa being scared into submission by TJS/DV and her family and villagers telling her to not make waves otherwise they will starve. We should have TVS finding Champa, apologising to her for abandoning her, slowing, calmly over a period of time convincing her and her family that she must go to court and testify against DV as what he did was wrong, Being their with Champa all the way through even in court to give her assurance that he will protect her and her family. Helping her afterwards to make a living without Rai as no Thakur will trust her. My point being Champa has to stand up for herself and seek justice for what happened to her but she dealing with men far more powerful than her and a corrupt police system. Its going to need someone equally powerful to support her for her to succeed.
Equally we need Kuhu to sense that TJSs behaviour is not right. It should slowly dawn on her what is happening and her being shocked, disgusted and trying to think what she should do? We should see her avoiding TJSs presense, making a difficult decision to tell her mother and sister, them being horrified. MS having to tell TVS what is happening and asking him to stay calm for Kuhu's sake. TVS controlling his first instinct which is to kill TJS and DV and thinking the best way out and realising that the first priority is to get Kuhu out of TJS house. Family finding an excuse to get Kuhu to come and stay wiht them for a few days. TVS and Kuhu having a very awkward conversation in MS and Jiji's presence where TVS tells Kuhu that they cannot protect her in TJS's home and its time for her to decide what she wants to do. He will resepct her wish but his preference would be for her to go away somewhere to study further, do something with her life but signing some divorce papers before she leaves and let him handle the fall out that will happen when TJS/DV realises what has happened. Again its Kuhu's decision but she needs help of her family to get her out this.
