Vikram then and Vikram now are two different people. Vikram may be ok with Sugni raising the child but Vikram will not be happy if Sugni-Adi raise the child.
IMO if two people do not love one another, why bring a child between them? And here, it's not even "not in love anymore" but both parties hate each other ( I think even Jwala Singh and Gulabia have a slightly better relationship than sugni and Vikram at the moment)
