I think initally he he did not want TVS to marry her because he did not want history to repeat itself and Reva to suffer the way his mum did when his dad left. I think he has forgotton that TVS is not his dad, there are no childern involved and Reva is not like his mum and will not commit suicide

Now I think when she says she wants to remove TVS and their memories from her heart he believes her and thinks if TVS did not bagger her she would be able to do it and move on. Because he does not let his emotions engage he does not undersrand that although Sugni is saying one thing in her heart she wants to be with TVS and that even if she moves on he will always have a place in her heart and she will never be able erase those memories its just that she will be able to remember them without heartache.

@Paya17 you make a very compelling argument. Up until the point where you stated that deep down Sugni loves Vikram. I really don't believe she loved him at all, she may have been charmed and very motivated by her dream of being wife coming true. She loved the Idea of being married, to be different from all other Bednis, but she did not love the man she was marrying.
