<p>It appears that are many threads on the forum all on the above topic and some are becoming rude and aggressive. Let's all calm down.
These are fictional characters. Gulki, Varun, Narayani have bought them to life in such a vivid way with their excellent acting that they feel real and therefore are provoking such strong reactions. I have not included Nandesh in the above list as I feel that his acting skills, modulation etc does not match the about 3 fantastic actors. Sorry just my point of view.
So let's first of all say a big thank youđ to the actors for doing such a fantastic job.
Let's turn to the creative team and say that they have done a fantastic job of DESTROYING what promised to be a great show with interesting backdrop, strong characters, multiple storylines.
So let's give them a round of tomatoesđĄ and suggest that they get their act together, be courageous and take the opportunity that still exists to make this show into a something different and amazing. That means stop butchering characters, being inconsistent, illogical, using stupid symbolism, using senseless and low moral storylines and dialogues. Please don't insult us the audience.
Turning to the characters:
TVS - A man in his mid/late 30s who was smart, shrewd, principled, charming, fair, humorous, lovavle who respected people regardless of cast or creed. This character has now been turned 180 degree to become obsessive.
Sugni - A 19 year old girl who is bright, street smart, cheerful, strong willed, free spirit who would fight for what she believed in regardless who she was fighting or the consequences. This character has now been turned into a girl who cannot think rationally or stand up and fight for herself.
Adi â A guy in his m id 20s (25 or so) who was modern, educated, a little arrogant, very angry, sometimes rude, practical, not emotional but very loyal to his Mama, Mum and his family. He had a strong bond with his mama. They did not always agree with each other but respected each other's point of view and always stood by each other. He often asked for his Mama advice. This character has now also been turned 180 degree to become a sanctimonious know it all who cares more about outsiders than his whole family.
Each of the characters when they started had their strengths and weaknesses ie multi faceted and that was what was lovable about them.
Turning to the story:
Sugvi era â I think with hindsight this was meant to establish a rich older man trapping a young girl in the guise of love. Unfortunately the original writers did such a fantastic job of their interactions and then subsequent love story which Gulki and Varun bought to life with such panache that what should have been uncomfortable to watch turned into an unexpected amazing couple that most people loved and age and appearance was not an issue. Some people have said that they saw lust not love. Let's respect each other's point of view but I think it would be fair to say most people saw love.
This clearly left the writers with a problem as there storyline had gone off track.
To bring it back on track new writers arrived and they bought in the Reva Manzil track. This was weak storyline to start with and therefore the lynchpin it provides for Sugni to move on is weak (disagree with divorce when in todays world it is prevalent even in India where in rural areas girls ger sent to maiksy for slightest offence)
They butchered the characters of Gulabia, TVS, Sugni and Adi so that they all became polar opposite of what they were. They dropped all other characters and the multiple storylines. They are so many inconsistencies, gaps etc .
Someone said TVS was never meant to be the lead so why are Sugvi fans upet? TVS does not have to the lead and fans are not upset about that. They are upset that the character that started soo strong has been ruined by being turned into a weak obsessive person.
Irrespective of that after last week Sugvi is well and truly dead. No girl will ever be in a relationship with a man who injured her mother (it does not matter that the mother struck the first blow).
Adini era -
So we arrive at the Adini era which has arisen on the basis of:
â Sugni's unwillingness to accept that TVS will divorce Reva and marry her because she does want to be labelled like the rest of the Bedni's as destroying a thakurian's life
â Adi believing that sugni has a right to chose how she wishes to live her life and he will do anything to protect that right.
Sugni's standpoint would be acceptable except that her action of accepting Adi's marriage proposal means that she has done exactly what she did not want to do â ruin a thakurian's life because Adi is engaged to Amu who loves him. Yes it would be fair to say Adi does not appear to love Amu but its not clear whether that is because he is not an emotional person or whether he is genuinely not in love with her. Irrespective of that Amu loves Adi. If we look at the parallel TVS does not love Reva but Reva loves him. The only difference is between the two is the former is an engagement and the latter is a marriage but the sentiment are the same.
Turning to Adi, he says Sugni has right to chose how she wishes to live her life and he is absolutely right but then he cannot say TVS does not have the right to live his life the way he wishes to and must stay married to Reva. That's hypocritical.
It's this very weak reason for the existence of the Adini jodi that is making SugVi/TVS fans frustrated.
Way forward
The writers still have a chance to pull this back from being a typical serial. They can move forward by:
- TVS accepting (heartbroken but accepting) that he has lost Sugni forever.
- TVS divorcing Reva (she has served her purpose)
- Adi sugni realising the consequences of their action â destruction of mother/son relationship, a baap/beta jesi relationship, a family torn apart, heartbreak for TVS being even more painful because of their close proximity.
- Adi Sugni moving to the city, struggling to establish themselves as TVs has barred Adi from his wealth, properties, businesses contacts etc.
I am not saying the latter two points because I do not like Adini but because if their relationship is to last its needs to be built on their merit not whilst sitting in TVS's house and living a cushy life. It will also make interesting viewing,
