Sugni and Gulabiya's Double Standards

I will admit, I have NOT watched an episode of this show for the past 3 and a half weeks (the last one I saw in its enterity was the one where Reva was locked up and she was screaming Aditya from the room) so I am rely totally on a glances (not even complete readings) of the WU in particular the precaps (that tells you everything) so forgive me my errors (goes to show how weak and predictable this show has become 😛).

OK, so Sugni leaves TVS because she does not want to become his mistress and that he has in essence deceived her? Then WHY does she auction herself off to the next person. I understand she's broken, depressed etc, but where has her selfrespect gone?!?!

And Gulabiya has no shame in asking TVS nephew to do her daughter's Sardakai when he is already engaged to someone else? And from what I note in someone's comments she is talking about morality to TVS? Goodness, this comments make me feel so nausated I am grossed out.

OK, TVS did wrong, but seriously what is with this "Let's us beat up TVS?" And what is with Aditya? It's OK for me to do the sardakai with Sugni even while he is engaged to some else and who loves him. So Sugni, Gulabiya and Aditya are morally OK while TVS is evil? Who are these people kidding or trying to fool? Are we THAT dumb?

I am disgusted. Beyond disgusted with this show. And people felt the worst thing was TVS deceiving Sugni or his age?

I wish TVS would just walk away from Sugni - the TVS I saw originally would have but this "new" one - who the hell is he?

Appalled, beyond appalled at this show.

How I wish Amrita makes a come back and gives a good tongue lashing to Gulabiya. How I wish it.

Adi will do the sirdakaii and sugni will come to live in his house ohh what will happen then ? will she b able face vikram or see him with his wife.

Just happen to read ur post now & what ever u have written i felt for sugini & g ...How come both havent thought of amrita

From beging i always had question sugini with adi .. I never wanted sugini to be responsible for breaking anyone home like other bedini .

CV should have kept adi single if they where hell bent with adi & sugini pair .

Now everyone seems to be wrong ..G , sugini , adi ..just like vikram who lied

One scene i remember where vikram said to sugini that if he ever leave havalli he will allow her to go & he will never turn back to get her ..it will be her choise ..then what now with vikram

I agree with you, Laila... last night when I was watching I couldnt believe Gulabiya!

What did she want? Her daughter to be a mistress of some lecherous old Thakur? Who uses her for a few weeks and then discards her? And then shes forced to sleep with other Thakurs to carry on bedni tradition?

Wouldnt it be far better to be 2nd wife of a man who really loved her, cared for her? Who is saddled with an insane wife thru no fault of his?

BTW in India, is a man allowed to divorce his wife if shes insane? In many countries u cannot divorce a mentally ill wife or husband because that is considered an illness.

Does Gulabiya want the same fate for Sugni that she had? At least she was exclusive to TJS and didnt have to go to other Thakurs. Sugni may have even worse fate than that!

And my final question is why couldnt Gulabiya and Sugni leave the village like they were doing before TVS stopped them and confessed his love for Sugni?

They could leave that godforsaken village, go to the nearest city and work there...so many poor villager women work as day laborers, maids, work in garment factories etc. At least there they can earn an honest living with their own toil and hard work and probably preserve their honor and dignity! Actually maids in city homes earn a lot nowadays with which they usually support a family back home!

I think Gulabiya knows that Aditya wouldn't do anything with Sugni...so that is why she is okay with it. She didn't want Sugni's sardakkai to happen with anyone including Adi.

As for Sugni...I think she has just stopped feeling anything. I do agree that her decision makes her a hypocrite. She may be saving Reva, but she is putting another Thakurein in trouble.

Aditya, to me, is a very confusing character. I don't know what to think of him...he is incredibly annoying at times. I don't blame him for doing the sardakkai because she had to pay off his debt to Gulabiya...and he knows that this tradition is incredibly dumb. But still...he is selfish and doesn't understand anything.

I feel bad for TVS. He really should do something with the Reva problem...possibly send her off somewhere so she can improve her health...otherwise, he'll be murdered by her!

Excellent Post Laila👏

I am exhausted right now, from my other posts. I came home just in time to see the drama, I was so shocked I just sat there watching, till I could take no more, and got up from the living room, went to my room, and watched an entirely different, western channel. Eventually, I came on the forum and I lost it, in my posts.

All I can say is I learnt a lot about Bednis in this past few weeks, keep them as far as possible from your men. Sugni is cheap, Gulabiya is cheap and all Bednis are cheap. The writers seem to enjoy the cheapness, because they could have toned it down. They could have left out the Uncle part, and the friendship part. I did not need to see a flip flop Sugni shamelessly going from chaste to having a whole community of Thakurs bidding for her. This is an R rated show. too much for me, and I am no conservative.

She wanted him by exerting his influence as a Thakur to stop that suicidal ritual which Sugni was staging in order to shut herself out for ever from Vikram's life.Sugni's sardhakai happened as per what transpired between mama bhanja.

Aditya is forth right in saying that it was the only possible thing to do since Sugni was ready to plunge into darkness. I feel Gulabia did not mind Aditya doing the act coz she trusts him. She is bit assured that Aditya has just done that ritual for namesake in order to save her daughter and he will not even touch her.But she does fear that Aditya may have done it for Vikram's sake.

But yes, Sugni has done the damage whether this sardhakayi happened for namesake or whatever. She will be branded as his mistress no matter he touches her or not.

Why Gulabia is being presecuted and accused of double standards? She never asked Aditya to take that step.She was just doing a duty of being a mother right from the beginning whether she wanted to show truth to Sugni regarding Reva or she confronted Vikram on his intentions of keeping a second wife or she even risked her life to thwart that marriage which would not give Sugni any rights as a wife or she whole heartedly accepted Sugni after the wedding gone kaput or she tried to uplift Sugni's morale or when she planned to take her away to jhansi to start things afresh.She just wants her daughter safe and happy.

This sardhakai stuff has been pushed down her throat by none other than her daughter Sugni.She has failed her miserably.Gulabiya is just paying for giving birth to such a daughter.

As regards to Amrita, it was Aditya's concern and to an extent Vikram's concern too.Their concern for Sugni preceeded everything , I suppose.I feel Amrita deserves some one better than Aditya coz even though they were engaged it was always stressed that Aditya does not love her the way she does.Aditya is only concerned about mama.His fondness for Amrita ( I won't call it love) stems from the support she provided to his battered soul.Rather getting trapped in a loveless marriage it is better she leaves Aditya.

And I do agree that show has been inconsistent right from the beginning.Producers say sth else when they launch the show, but they start showing sth else and then they remember suddenly what they had announced earlier and change the track on those lines.😕 I can't understand why Jwala Thakur and family have been sidelined?
