Hi Srushti,
Hi Shelly
I find the last two episodes have been about setting up the dynamics of the Vickram household. From Adi's closure of his father's betrayal by completing the son's duty of the last rights. To Friday's power struggle between the brother and sister. They are indeed changing the dynamics ...Before that it was the dynamics of Sugni and family...and now since the greedy gobblers and free loaders are satisfied and are busy playing cards😡 we are subjected to even worse ...Lady Gaga🤢
All the scenes show us how the same incident shapes and affects different people differently.
Jiji - even though she was the one most severely affected by the incident has chosen to blame the bedni for what happened. She is not willing to accept that her husband rejected her and his family for another woman and perhaps she should blame him. Or maybe there was something wrong in their relationship that her husband found what he was looking for in a bedni. She has decided to blame the woman and not the customs which had made both her and Rashem a victim of a practice that should not exist. The advice she is giving her brother is to continue with a tradition that at the end not only hurts the women but severely scars the children as well. She wants to find Vick a respectable wife and close her eyes to all the other consequences. Pathetic pscychology of the women who are not ready to take responsibility or face the fate...and always ready to blame the women who are just victims of the society and its rituals...
Adiya - as a child witness to the whole saga blamed the bedni but is mature enough to acknowledge that not all bednis are the same. Finally...and we so wish that he would not become a chameleon overnight ...because from his expression whe Vikram took Sugni's side and told his sister off was again that classic 'It is because of you...you bedni!!😡'
Vickram - has taken the most mature lesson from his sister's situation. He understand that it is the tradition of "sardakai" and the Thakur/Bedni system that is the problem not the bednis. He doesn't believe in the system and is willing to fall in love with a bedni and make a commitment to her.
He did take a stance in front of everyone too na??? and the way he said that this rituals were started by them...and they need to stop this and he had no qualms whatsoever in taking the lead!
So far the makers of the show have done a great job of developing the story, characters and have definitely kept us engaged. Let's see how long they are able to sustain this! yup...it is the old 'wait and watch' wala system😛
