This is only a short os to distress myself from my exams which are going on. I have not proof read so ignore the mistakes. I will not continue it.
Akshat, Meher, Ishaan and her family had come to Akshat's office party. Neon lights were brimming everywhere. Laughter and music was blasting from every nook and corner of the party room. Meher's mom and aunt went towards the food counter to bring food items for the rest as it was nearly dinner time. Ishaan was playing around as there was dispositions taken for the children. Akshat and Meher were having a light conversation when suddenly Meher felt her dress being wet. Looking down she saw a little girl of nearly eight who had lost her balance and accidently spilt her drink on her dress
I am sorry aunt
It's okay beta
Behind her came a lady in her late thirties
I am so sorry for my daughter's mistake
It's okay said Meher
Akshat then taking his turn to speak introduced the lady as Akanksha Sehgal, the party's host and his boss. Both the ladies exchanged greetings and Akanksha turning towards the little girl said,
Avantika in a it's time to eat dinner
No mom I won't eat till Rockstar comes
Avantika baby if Rockstar comes to know about how you are behaving he would be angry
No I won't eat till he comes
By this time meher's mom and aunt had come and Akshat had briefed them about what had happened. He then introduced them his boss. Devki then asked who is this Rockstar and Akanksha replied that it is her brother. A loud Rockstar scream was heard and when the Purohit clan turned around, their eyes nearly came out.
Standing there was Abeer Malhotra looking dashing in a formal suit of grey colour. Avantika jumped into his arms and he cuddled her with a genuine smile which reached his eyes. This was a rare sight for his family as well as his ex in-laws. He approached his sister and he was shocked to see Meher but he quickly composed himself. Akanksha introduced him as her brother. He then turned his attention to his princess who demanded to fed by her uncle. Akanksha ordered the food and then Abeer set to the task of making his princess eat. The whole family was stunned seeing Abeer caring so much for the little child. Without thinking Meher just asked,
Since when did he start loving kids?
Akanksha's reply left her speechless. After his divorce, Abeer was a complete mess and he found solace only in alcohol. Shortly he came to Singapore where I resided and he was under depression. During that time I had adopted this little bundle and after weeks he did not touch his bottle. In that span they formed a different uncle niece bond and spending time with her he slowly came out of his depression. Abeer becomes a puppet in front of Avantika and he would do everything possible to keep a smile on her face. Abeer would a great father if he has a child of his own. That last line left Meher perturbed.
At the request of his princess, Abeer alongside Avantika sang the acoustic version of Mere Nishan which left the audience enthralled. I think she will follow the footsteps of her Rockstar said Akanksha.
On the other side doubts were clouding Meher's mind and she was inwardly feeling guilty.
Did I do a terrible mistake of keeping Ishaan's existence a secret from Abeer?
She was going crazy with her conflicting emotions and this is how she felt for the rest of the night.
