Todays episode was unintentionally hilarious for me. Episode starts with Kuber disclosing all about Tunnus gambling ways and the subsequent rescue act of Abeer. And I liked that they put in the angle of Tunnu himself confessing on phone. Allegations of Kuber were on expected lines like how whole family was looting his innocent son, all of them have a habit of surviving on others money, Mehar was using his beauty to trap his son and advised her to use this trick on other rich guys in market( this part was a below the belt). Mehar is too stunned and hurt by Tunnus confession to react to these allegations. But Bua regains her composure enough to give a good retort to Kubers allegations and said that Mehar is their pride and he would get back his money with interest. The scene was well executed. Kuber Mehra was deliciously evil. I may be in minority but I find his character very fascinating and close to reality. And Ayub Khan is just the right actor to play this part. He brings out the scorn, contempt and sarcasm of Kuber Mehra so well. An interesting point, Kuber Mehra says that he gave his business card to Mehar in college but she used it to reach his home. This sort of confirmed what I have always suspected. That Kuber Mehra had met Mehar before she married Abeer and was impressed with her in professional capacity at least. Oh and Bua does confess that her hate was beginning to melt, but Kuber has reignited that fire.
I was pleasantly surprised that Mehars brain had already started functioning as soon as she stepped out of Malhotra Mansion. She said that they cant trust everything Kuber said and that maybe Suman herself is unaware of whole truth. She had complete trust that her mother wont take Abeers help without even telling her. Mehar surely is made up of sterner stuff. No melodrama, no emotional breakdown she was back to business almost immediately. And then the tragi-comedy accident. Blame it on the spoilers and the general positivity and excitement in this forum for the accident, I didnt feel an iota of shock or sadness on the accident😆. We were all prepared and waiting for it with open arms since days. Ofcourse to make the matters worse it was shoddily executed. Mehar flew in air like a football before reaching the goalpost. There was just a small injury on head. It seems Mehar is strong not just internally but externally as well. Tabhi to itna bada accident and ittu sa khoon :P Khair it was even more illogical after the accident. Mehars Bua kept crying and asking for help for like 5 minutes after the accident. Why? They had the car and the keys, couldnt she drive Mehar to hospital. Or we have to just assume that keys were lost when Mehar was freekicked by the car. Atleast they could have shown her searching for the keys. Khair if they did so, how would we have the much dreaded entry of Abeers Masi. Must say intelligent women, this lady. First her car hits Mehar and then she askes her Driver to take U turn from another route to take Mehar to hospital. Neither the actor nor character leave much impact for now, but then its too early to judge. But going by Buas antagonistic attitude towards her, she seems either a negative or an ambigous character. Certainly not all positive like her sister.
Then came Abeer waking up from his dream cum nightmare and worrying for Mehar. Her Maasi calls and tells him about the accident and his glass falls😆. I know its supposed to be tragic, but it came out as funny. The CVs really have gone for role reversal in this one havent they? Mehar is all stoic and in control even after Kubers big revealation, while Abeer is all emotional and impulsive and drops the glass like a good bahu does when something wrong happens to her husband. Its cute and funny at the same time. Tomorrows precap was all about Mehars Bua telling Abeer about what Kuber did.
All in all the episode had many crucial high points: Kubers revealation, Mehars accident, introduction of a new character, but still the impact wasnt as strong as it should have been. Partly due to spoilers but mainly due to shoddy execution. Next few episodes will decide the direction of the story and I hope that they are better presented and executed than this one.
