For a particular scene, the actress was required to be shown burning her diary which is full of her unspoken emotions from over the years. When Abeer (portrayed by Pearl V Puri) lays his hands on it, Meher (Asmita) is left with no option but to burn and ruin it.
"I have had pyrophobia since childhood. When I was told about this scene, I was a little petrified initially, but then as they say, 'The show must go on', so I just went ahead and gave it my best shot.
"At the end of it, I knew it was worth it because everyone really raved about the way the scene turned out," Asmita said in a statement.'Phir Bhi Naa Maane... Badtameez Dil' is an Indian musical-romantic TV series, which airs on Star Plus.
