plus why would GC fans even want him in this show? which already has its leads finalised + all the side characters. he'll just be playing third fiddle to newbies. its a step down for an established actor.

No one is hating Gurmeet. Most members that I have interacted with appreciate and respect him as a person and his acting a lot. However, that does not mean that there are a few problems if he enters.

The following are what have cropped up consistently:

• Because of GC's massive fan-following, Pearl might get overshadowed considering this is his first show
• There is fear that Abeer's character might not be done full justice or might even be side-tracked to give GC's character more space
• IF GC does enter, there might be a petition to get GC's character and Meher together (again, feeding into the above insecurity)
• Massive petitions; if GC does enter and his character is well-liked, there might be petitions to keep him permanently on the show (if this happens, again look at the aforementioned insecurities)
• Shipping Wars - this is a huge one. In all my years here at I-F, this has been one major reason why amazing shows have been completely butchered. The forums become toxic, there are fights unnecessary fights and taunts everywhere and the overall atmosphere is very tensed and distasteful.

There are a lot more reasons, but these are the ones that I personally have concerns about and have many others express.
