Well, sometimes it's the makers who ruin it, sometimes it's because of disputes between the leads and sometimes because of the channel that runs it. It's never just one reason. And almost every show has had their ups and down. I can definitely recommend you some that have had more high points than low though.
If you can, check out Kitani Mohabbat Hai. It has 2 seasons but they're not connected to each other in any way. (But there were some footage that had been used in Season 2 from Season 1). I personally loved Season 2 a lot more than the first one. Season 1 was both Karan and Kritika's (the couple in Sara's siggy box right now) first show. So their acting in the first season was choppy, but by the second one, it had improved. :)
