Thoughts about today's epi- 7/8/15

So, today's episode revealed the identity of the deceased whose funeral Meher attended in the pilot episode. Most of us guessed it correctly that the person might be a music teacher and that's who he turned out to be. Abeer's first connection to music. Interesting to note that it was his mother who planted the seed of music in his life by pursuing Elton D'souza.

One thing I couldn't make out was that if Elton was Abeer's music teacher in his childhood, then how come Meher came to know him? Now, if he was his teacher in college then it's understandable or if Meher was present in Abeer's life since his childhood and came across Elton. But we all know that's not the case as both only meet in college.

From the flashback, it is evident that Abeer's dad obviously didn't approve of his interest in music. They drew a parallel with yesterday's scene between Meher's brother and bua. Abeer's dad and Meher's bua seem to be similar personalities.

That slow, short version of "Mere Nishaan" was good. I wonder if there's going to be a female version to "Mere Nishaan." This song is definitely a major part of Abeer-Meher story.
Meher was definitely affected by Abeer's breakdown but she turned her face away from him. She puts up a face in front of him which sort of supports his claims against her of being heartless. Wonder why? She seems to love him equally as he does...but he seems to be expressive about it while she suppresses her feelings.

@Precap-- when I saw the flickering lights and elevator malfunction, I was like here we go again with same old damsel in distress sort of situation. Was expecting Meher to get all scared-y cat and panicky like those stereotypical female leads, they surprised us with Abeer panicking and being claustrophobic. 😆 lol @ Meher chuckling her way while Abeer's having a panic attack. Should be an interesting scene tomorrow.😆

P.S. Didn't just write up all that for the heck of it. Expecting to hear others' pov on today's episode and oh yeah more speculations are definitely welcome.

Finally starting to understand and get a grip on the story now.

Precap was hilarious,but we need more of those fb scenes to understand the different layers of the characters.

I don't think it's that Abeer can't read her eyes. Actually, it seems more like Meher never really lets him the chance. She seems to have mastered the technique of putting up a face while he confronts her. She doesn't let him see through those frosted glass walls she's built around her. Abeer, on the other hand, is unable to mask his feelings. Typical man, lol

Although as you pointed out, we dont know how Mr. Dsouza and Meher met.

Her brother wants to follow the footsteps of Abeer.

I am now even more curious to know their backstory of how they fell in love and consequently drifted apart. Has to do something with his dad, I'm sure about that by now.

May be Abeer had her meet Elton because he's a major part of his life and Meher probably was on to becoming his life. Don't know if Nissar, his bandmate and his best friend, was aware of Elton too.

@Meher's brother--- He seems to use his brother in law as an excuse more so than an inspiration. He was probably close to Abeer since he seems to be the only other male figure in his life besides his pointless father. He probably lacked a "father-figure" in his life and Abeer sort of helped fill that void in some way. He seems to respect Abeer a lot, actually more than his own sister.

Definitely, intrigued about their past story and how they came to be together and apart in such a short time span only to meet again after 8 years. Abeer's dad alone can't be the only root cause.

Maybe mehers bua and abeers dad had an affair and later split up and did not want mehbeer to be united. Mehers bua seems to be nice but did not want meher to go a place where she was not allowed and mehers bua and abeers dad decided to separate mehbeer from each other making meher to be the greedy one after money.

Good analysis, but I think as Mehbeer were married, Abeer would have told her about Elton as he meant so much to him, that's probably how Meher knew about Elton. Just guessing.
