She had expressed her reservation at the first tea meeting, but if you remember, Rump dictated that she should not say anything and instructed her to say that she agrees to whatever her daughter wants. Even Rumps father had told Rump that her mom and brother had some issues with the match. And I think that because she is not too fluent in Hindi, so some things came out harsher than what she meant.
