Progressive? Haha. 18 y.o just 12th pass FL is progressive? From what angle? She belongs to a good family but has no interest in studies that too not Phd level studies but basic college.

And yeah by their logic of "no-romance-yet" they tried to justify CM.

You know 1 defender of PPK asked me some questions to test if I had actually watched the show :D I did watch majority eps and answered the questions. She is no where to be seen now. She, just like the makers, assumed that people opposing haven't watched the show. Some logic!

1st ep was enough to cement our beliefs about this show. The trip and fall sequence, nowadays a cliche, to make hero catch the falling heroine, was shown with a soothing music played in background. Only coz Ratan says - "you are heavy" the makers were like - nooo our show is diff.
Diya-ratan payal scene, stalking scene was all alluding in that direction. I think they did it in purpose coz in their twisted mind that in entertaining.

I think Tejaswi should fire her agents for getting her this type of work. I wonder what must have befallen a good actress like her to sign up for something as twisted as this?

Forget the agents, with the amount of defending and calling the show progressive, she is obviously equally to blame for this. Does she not know the difference between right and wrong that she made all those statements about the show being progressive and comparing it to games of thrones? She clearly knew what she was getting into that she went all out to defend it. I do wonder though, that considering karan wahi was one of the most prominent voices to speak out against the show, and him being good friends with one of the shows actors, suyyash, whether all this mess would have affected their friendship? I wonder!

How stupid is that for a defender of the show to ask a person who is against the show, questions related to the show to prove that they haven't watched the show, so to prove they are wrong to speak against it if they haven't watched it? Does not watching the show change the fact that even without watching everybody knows that in the show, a 9 year old boy has been married off to an adult, that everybody knows that the show isn't portraying child marriage with an aim to discourage it and show people how it ruins children's lives? Does it change the fact that everybody still knows that the boy innocently fantasized about her and even stalked her, or that despite being too young to understand what marriage is and the duties of a husband or anything, they portrayed him carrying out husband-like actions, and being involved with suhaag raat and honeymoon when he doesn't even understand what they mean? The answer is no. He thought nothing of the things he was made to do when he received this husband tag, and for him it was all child's play. He didn't understand a thing that was going on and even people who actually haven't watched it and follow the show on social media would know about this stuff. There's no need to watch the show to actually know what is wrong with it. The portrayal of child marriage here is irresponsibly done.

I didn't know Karan and Suyash are friends. In that case, kudos to Karan for standing up for what is right despite of a friend being involved. He took an unbiased approach. Before PPK going off air, Karan was also the brunt of many taunts on IF.

I know right! 😆
I would say 'can you believe the stupidity' but I think we've all witnessed that. Their main argument that people opposing the show haven't watched it is invalid coz many of us have actually watched it and made up our individual minds rather than supporting a show only coz fav actress is in it. I think most of these supporters wouldn't even be defending this show if the lead actress was a newbie with little or no fan following.

in an Interview of tej(Diya) she said that her role was very progressive and I was like how?????😕 because you married a 9-year old boy who stalks you & caresses you like a creep! The way she defended the show and her character was completely baseless, it didn't even make any sense. And this is where I really dislike the indian TV industry...you want to show a girl strong and independent then bring up roles like Sandhaya and Anandi not Gopi Bahu and Diya or Pragya. Plus the character and story goes hand-in-hand if one falls then the other trembles.

As I said earlier this show actually had potential with the setting and the background music (which I think was amazing) but it messed up so badly. And i also don't understand how did the channel approve the show in the first place? Atleast they could have bring in some changes and make it less clingy.

This show has miserably failed in portraying evils of the rural India. I can recollect shows like BV, Na Aana Iss Desh Laado, Pratigya, Maryada and few other shows which were perfect examples of having progressive women in their shows. The makers of the show seem to not be so serious with their work, they should have just chosen a normal love-story instead rather than dealing with this heavy concept.
