TNN | Aug 10, 2017, 03:55 PM ISTPehredaar Piya Ki actor Tejaswi Prakash defends her show; here are top six controversial things she said
There's a lot that has been said about controversial TV show Pehredaar Piya Ki, which is an unusual love story of a 9-year-old boy, Ratan Singh(Afaan Khan) with an 18-year-old girl, Diya (Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar). With an online petition running across all social media platforms to ban the show, its leading actress Tejaswi Prakash finally stepped out to defend her show.

Here are top six controversial things she said in her interview to IANS which indicate how she is unaffected by people's reaction to the daily soap.

1) While talking about the content of the show- if it's progressive or regressive, Tejaswi said, "I think it's really progressive. But again, a lot of people believe in judging a book by its cover... They love being judgmental and people have nothing better to do than judging somebody else's work. Then okay, what can I do?"

2) Being from the TV industry, even actor Karan Wahi couldn't refrain from commenting that the small screen has hit a new low with the show. Talking about the same, the Swaragini actress said, "I dont think so. I feel it's just a story and fiction. It's just a story that we are telling people. So how can you judge any story?

3) Tejaswi also drew a comparison between the show to the most popular American fantasy drama "Game of Thrones", created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. "It also happened in 'Game Of Thrones'... People love 'Game Of Thrones' and if same thing happens in 'Pehredaar Piya Ki', then it's an issue," she added.

4) The actress also clarified that the criticism of the show does not affect her. She takes it as her job. She added, "No, I'm an actor. I just get my script, go on the set and I perform. Honestly, I'm not on a lot of social sites to be aware of any such comments... I am only active on Instagram. Nobody calls and says anything to me. It's probably the creatives... They should talk to the creatives about the criticism."

Earlier even actor Suyyash Rai, who plays the part of Kunwar Abhay Singh on the show, had defended the show on his Instagram account. He had written back then, " Pehredaar Piya Ki @tejasswiprakash baby smile :) plz Guys watever @imkaranwahi said its his pov no1 can question him neither me nor you guys. But this doesnt change the fact that WE the whole team of #PPK we love this show and we all have worked really hard for it and we still are anddd we will our motive is to entertain you guys not promote child marriage or anything. This show is different , plz dont judge it and jump onto conclusions If a channel like @sonytvofficial has approved the show they must have thought something right ??? Even d producers must have thought a lot before making this and investing soo much money its my req to all,plz watch it first and then decide :) maybe m wrong MAYBE :) but lets wait n then decide. Love to all n thanku for sucha good response for the frst epi . @tejasswiprakash baby smile :) plz"

How daft can one be? Comparing her show with GOT is the most ridiculous thing ever. Has she even watched or better understood even one ep?
GOT is set in ancient times, milleniums back. They have never glorified child abuse. They showed it as exactly that - abuse! Be it the Boltons, or Gregor - everyone knew that those guys were villains, not heroes. The good guys like Ned even looked down and were appalled at the behaviour of these people. This is just one example.

People trying to unnecessarily draw idiotic comparisons b/w this show and GOT should actually watch the series or read the books and then see for themselves if any of that even makes sense.

What kind of an asinine defense is that?

Comparing GOT to this show is like comparing inception to dilwale 🤣
Even the extras in GOT can act better than these so called 'actors'
