Arjun wasn't a hero either and to a large extent Manav wasn't either. All the leading men in this show have been weak, confused, helpless. They just do what their women tell them. Ekta thinks that is the only way to make women centric shows and show strong women. By making stupid men.

Arjun and Manav have been weak and stupid at times too, I agree. They were not without flaws. In fact most male characters on Indian TV are like that.

But what I'm talking here is the hero wala APPEAL which is sorely missing in the character of Naren ever since he recovered and we saw the REAL Naren Karmarkar. There is no hero wala appeal in his character at all, which would attract the audience to his character. It's just so bland, not dynamic, hardly got good romantic scenes, hardly did the right things, even worse is doing all the wrong things these days and has been portrayed as a total loser in EVERY WAY. One would seriously wonder why Ankita and Pari went crazy for him. 😕 Not surprising that the audience is just not interested in him the way they were in Manav and Arjun as heroes, either for the romantic part of the story, or bcos the character itself.

Now Manav was also shown as a weak character quite a number of times and a number of people found him spineless too. But from time to time, CV's tried to give that heroic appeal to him by showcasing that he was essentially a very good, golden hearted guy or by making him play knight in shining armour to Archana and her family, or by showing how much he cared for Archana etc. Many a times this used to touch the hearts of even the staunchest of critics of Manav. So inspite of all his right/wrong actions, he still had an appeal. This is the difference I am trying to point out. Other characters on TV too at least get well written romantic scenes, some form of redemption, or are shown as business tycoons or dynamic even if at the end of the day it's all about the heroine.

The Naren who was not normal was a Hit character ..he was loved by all and the way he romanced Ankita was so cute .
This normal Naren only has one good thing about him and that is his daughter Aashi ...other than that he is a big Flop ...boring , useless and just bland ...he is neither here or there ...He feels bad for his actions against Ankita but still goes ahead and does wrong anyways ...so what's the point in showing that he is feeling bad inside ...

Even acting wise Karan looks bored , the only time he comes alive is when he has little Aashi in the scene with him ..

I understand what you are saying. But Naren also had those romantic scenes, and great heroic acts. His story is still fairly new and he still has a long way to go. Right now he can't have any hero style romantic scenes because there is no one to romance. Arjun also had a similar phase when he was married to Ovi and Purvi was married to Onir. His character is of a dad right now. He does seem to be a loving dad. When love returns in life his arc will change. I don't think he is any worse than Manav or Arjun as a hero. The actor isn't as cute and lacks the presence Sushant and Rithvik had so that probably take away from the scenes. He is also at a disadvantage because Manav(Sush)+ Archana and Arjun+Purvi (Asha/Rith) were very loved as couples. They had amazing chemistry. Naren doesn't have that.

Naren had very good chemistry with Ankita in the pre-recovery period, so the problem is not with the actor or chemistry at all. Everyone liked his character in those days as well and his acting was quite good IMO. Though he was shown mad, his goodness, eccentric genius type of role, innocence, nice scenes with Ankita- everything made up for it. He was the hightlight earlier.

As I said, all the romantic moments and heroic acts were in the phase when he was mentally ill. Post recovery, the REAL Naren Karmarkar has not had even one thing which could make the character connect to the audience or like him. Fine there is no one for him to romance, but it's not about the romance even, there is no bond shown between him and Ankita even, no understanding, no respect. He doesn't even stand out as a man with morals or dynamic personality. His story with Pari had scope for romance and make people root for him but creatives didn't use that also. He's now a puppet doing all the wrong things for her and unable to control her. And time? There's been a lot of time for him so far. In fact the hero is established in the first few months, (later they become puppets) and post recovery Naren ko toh shuru se hi unappealing dikhaya hai yahan toh aagey kya expect karein?!

And the fault here is not the character's (obviously!) but the creatives which is what I am stressing on that WHY are they taking such turns in the story where he has no chance to show some goodness towards Ankita, do something for her for a change, why are they making the character worse and loser like, why showing him destroying Ankita's life, they're making him more and more bland and uninteresting, literally it's the women in his life who provide him everything on a platter and change the direction of the show- why show him in this way if they intend to show Ankita returning to him in the end?

So many people wanted Anken to unite earlier, they were rooting for them, also the non fans wanted them to come together as they were the married couple and Ankita had done so much for him, but the creatives have reduced the character to a state that pretty much no one wants them together now. Arjun and Manav have done their own share of mistakes, there have been times when people have hated Manav but still some actions and scenes were brought in that even the non fans, who don't care about chemistry or ship for a couple, wanted the couple to unite cos something about the couple or the character touched them- some emotional scenes, some type of bonding. Here there is absolutely nothing- not even for the sake of Aashi do people want Anken together now. And the fault is of the CV's for such writing.

Ankita and Karan had very good chemistry and their scenes were well written , all this when Naren was not well ...
Their acting style and looks complimented each other perfectly and they were loved by us fans ..
The writers have spoiled the love story themselves by bringing in Pari and by making Naren useless ...only listens quietly to the ladies in his home ..

i like this hero/villan. I am sick of seeing the same sacrificng hero whose basically the second coming of the messiah in every serial. Naren has a bit of realism in him. He portrays normal human beings not sacrficial king, which is super annoying.

I don't like Naren too. And dont want him to have a good life in the end. But be hopeful guys I dont think so Ankita and Naren will end up together! In Kayamath serial Neev and Prachi were the main leads initially but they never made neev-prachi end up together instead with the other guy played by Shabbir (I forgot his name). So I think Ankita will end up with Ranvijay.
