"I think it is more tough to be different after being similar" - Ekta Kapoor

After launching Kumkum Bhagya a popular show on Zee TV the daily soap queen Ekta Kapoor is all set to spread Aashiqui in the hearts of the audience with her new show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi on Colors.

In conversation with TelllyBuzz Ekta talks about her show, new female actress in the show and more...

When asked Ekta how differently she would portray the story because there are many love stories based shows on TV these days, she says, "I believe in detailing, even if the story is repeated. I try to give it a new touch to the story for example take RamLeela it was a normal love story but people still liked it because there was lot of detailing created in Ranveer Singh's character, Deepika Padukone's character. It is like tea or sandwich, all make sandwiches but you may like only one sandwich wala because there must be something different in his sandwiches. I think it is more tougher to be different after being similar. It is actually a challenging job to create a world and involving audience in your created world."

As there were reports that Meri Aashiqui.. has been adapted from Emilie Brotnie's Wuthering Heights novel so when asked Ekta about the concept of the show she says, "No it is not, as I said before I believe in making similar thing in a different way. Human beings are nuts we easily get influenced by things coming across in our life sometimes we get highly influenced and we actually land up copying but sometimes we keep it as base and try to bring something different from it. The story is about two families poor and rich staying in the same house and the rich family is not realizing the value of poor family."

Any specific reason for launching a new face in the show? Ekta says, "We took auditions all over India and we found Radhika Madan perfect for this role. Before starting the shoots she has been taken for work shops for training as she is a new actor. There was vulnerability required I needed a raw talent and she had that."

We wish Ekta Kapoor all the best of luck for her new venture.

Gauri plays overtly practical woman in 'Meri Aashiqui...': Ekta

Producer Ekta Kapoor, who is coming up with a new show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, which marks the comeback of Gauri Pradhan Tejwani, says the actress will plays a character too practical in life.

Gauri became a popular face after featuring as the female lead in Ekta's show Kutumb.

Ekta of Balaji Telefilms says while Gauri has only played positive roles till now, she would be seen as a character, bordering on the negative.

"Gauri is a brilliant actor...I am honored that she is working with me again. I think it's an interesting character, it's different from what Gauri has done all these years on TV.

"She has a very pretty face so she has been given classically positive roles. I won't say this is a negative role, but I wouldn't classify it as a completely white character (either)," the 39-year-old said here on Monday at the launch of the show.

Elaborating on Gauri's character, Ekta added: "She has a lot of edges, she plays a woman who is overtly practical. People can even call her stone-hearted because she gives importance to her mind and not her heart.

"She wants her daughters be like that, look pretty and marry right, marry not through heart but brain."

Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi to be aired on Colors, also features actor Shakti Arora as Ranveer and new actress Radhika Madan. The show will goes on air on June 24.

"I am privileged to get such a show." - Radhika Madan

Balaji Telefilms is all set to launch its new show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi on Colors. While the promos of the show are already out but the viewers are liking the good looking couple's chemistry in the promo itself. The show's lead Ranveer (Shakti Arora) and Ishaani (Radhika Madan) have made an impact on the audience with the promo of the show itself.

As this show marks the debut of dancer turned actress Radhika Madan, we got in touch with the pretty actress to know more about bagging this show, stepping in this TV industry, working with noted actors and more...

How was your experience auditioning for the show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi?

Ekta Kapoor spotted me in a musical in Delhi where I was performing. Then I got a call from Mumbai saying that Ekta Kapoor saw you in a musical and she really liked you. I was asked to come for the look test to Mumbai. I was not at all serious about auditions, mein masti mein audition dene chali gayi socha kuch nahi hone wala. Later I got a call about getting selected for the show. For a while I just couldn't believe when I heard this for the first time. I asked that person again are you sure, I am Radhika Madan he was like yes Radhika you are selected for the role. I was happy that my life changed in three days.

How excited are you for working with such a big banner and experienced people like Sarita Joshi , Gauri Pradhan Tejwani?

I am privileged to get such a show. It is like a dream come true. All my co actors are very supportive and kind, though they are experienced actors but they are very down to earth. We all work as a team; I share a very good bonding with them. They actually act as inspiration for me Ekta Kapoor is a sweet heart to me.

Share something about your character in the show?

Basically it's a male centric show. My character in the show is of a bubbly girl and simple girl who believes in love and commitment but is unaware of his affection and hence does not reciprocate.

Do you relate to your character?

No not at all because in real life I am a tom boy, I am not girlish. I am very straight forward person, if I feel something I will say it on the face.

What about the chemistry between you and Shakti on-screen and off-screen?

It's amazing he really made me feel comfortable. Normally experienced actors throw tantrums but he is very supportive. If I face any difficulty he always helps me. The chemistry we share of screen is beautiful, we pull each others leg and this makes our on-screen chemistry look more appealing and attractive for the audience.

As you are from dancing background do you face any difficulties in acting?

It is very difficult for me because I am completely new in this field. I am giving my 100 percent. Everyday is like a new journey for me.

What interests you more dancing or acting?

I think dancing because dancing is my passion, it makes me feel happy. I love dancing in my life ,I can't stop dancing. Even though I am acting I dance when I get free time in between shoots, nothing is really exciting than dancing for me.

You like dancing, so if you ever get a chance to participate in the reality shows like Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa will you grab that opportunity?

I am super excited for accepting the offers for reality shows. I always dream't of participating in a reality show as a choreographer but now I will participate as a contestant which is even more exciting. I want to participate in a dance reality show anyways I will be going for a dance training in August in New York.

Which is your favorite dance form and who is your favorite dancer in Bollywood?

I don't like Bollywood because main thumke nahi laga sakti. I like hip hop, jazz, belly dancing those are my favorite. I took training from Ashley Lobo's dance academy. My favorite dancer in Bollywood is Hrithik Roshan, he is amazing.

You are a Delhi based girl and you are new to Mumbai, what do you like about Mumbai?

Honestly speaking I like Mumbai more than Delhi. I adore this city. I feel Delhi is very Thanda and Mumbai has certain spark in it. Mumbai is comparatively faster than Delhi. When I came here I was like this is what we call a city. When I came back to Delhi from Mumbai I felt it very dumb and banjara city, I started missing Mumbai. People in Delhi don't have that spark in them as people have it in Mumbai. One thing I like about Mumbai is it doesn't sleep.

In future what kind of a role would you prefer?

I have not thought about anything yet. I just want to go with the flow. But I would like to take up anything challenging which nourishes my acting skills.

A message you want to pass on to your fans?

I hope and I keep entertaining the audience. I live up to their expectations. We all are working hard and we expect you to watch this show.

We wish Radhika all the best for her debut show!

"I am lenient with my children because I believe in modern concepts" - Sarita Joshi

Veteran actress Sarita Joshi who has won accolades for her performance in many TV shows, has became popular for her outstanding performance in Baa Bahu Aur Baby. Once again this versatile actress is back on screen and will be seen playing the role of Baa in Colors' show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi.

We got in touch with the actress to know about her experience working with the show, her journey in the industry and more...

Elaborating on her character in the show Sarita says, "My character in Baa Bahu Aur Baby was different. I was playing the role of Baa who was though very strict but was a kind hearted person who binds her family members together and tries to solve all their problems. In Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, I am again playing the role of Baa who is very rooted and follows her ethics in her life. She has no sympathy for anyone in her life wo naukar ko naukar hee samajti hai. If someone makes a mistake she slaps that person. She is an independent, being the eldest in the family she has the authority to control every one."

When asked about her nature in real life she says, "In real life I am not at all strict. I give my children full freedom to do whatever they want to do in their life. I am an artist and I believe in modern concepts but yeah I am also concerned about my children, I want them to be secured in their life after all I am a mother who always thinks about her family."

Sarita says her bonding with her co-stars is nice and she appreciated the newcomer Radhika's acting skills too, "It is too good, I have worked with Shakti Arora before he is a very good actor, Radhika Madan is new in this industry she is very beautiful and has the capacity to learn things very fast."

Sharing about her journey in her acting career she says, "My journey has been amazing till now. I have worked with Star Plus, Zee TV and now for the first time I will work with Colors. I am always satisfied with my characters, my journey with Baa Bahu Aur Baby was of five years and it was beautiful. I got many awards for my work in Baa Bahu Aur Baby, now I am working with Ekta Kapoor and I feel honored to work with her, Ekta Kapoor has made a big name on the small screen and any artist would love to work with her. Over that if you get a role which is really prominent and challenging fir to sone pe suhaga."

She concludes by passing a message to her fans, "I hope audience accepts this show, I hope they also love my character in this show."
