Clearly Ekta Kapoor has not moved our the dark ages and still believes that forced marriages should be the norm and people don't need to know their future partner...
Shekhar and Pari hardly know each other; they are acquaintances who happened to get along well. Perhaps that might suggest the possibility of going out on a date and finding out of they get along with each other, and find out if they are a compatible.

Ekta thinks the best option is to get two people who have a casual conversation married. The whole family conspire together and force her into a marriage as a solution to "get over' a lost love. No compassion or thought is even addressed that when you break up in a relationship, time is what you need to get over a loss NOT another marriage.

Archana's bullying and insistence that as a her grandmother she has the right to control Pari's future is wrong. Archana has no right to decide Pari's future. As such a wealthy family with companies that are supposed to be part of the top counties in the world, I cannot image their conduct and especially that of Pari.

Goodness, when it comes to human relations Ekta and her writing team have so much to learn...

Here the family is forcing her to marry Shekhar; Arjun was blackmailed into it by Pari. He was forced of course, but not in the traditional lines of a forced marriage.

I take objection to the title of this post. It is not really "forced marriage".. No one is forcing anyone to marry here. However, I do agree that it is a strongly suggested arranged marriage. Both parties here can simply walk off if they don't like.

I disagree with you. t's forced even when just coercion is involved. You do not have to push anyone with violence into a marriage but to pressure them into a marriage without taking account of their desires - that is forced. No-one took into consideration what Pari wanted; they invited the man and his family to the house without consent because they feared she would refuse. That Pari had the avenue and opportunity to speak up is a rarity that few young women have available. She was able to do this and avoid getting married to Shekhar but as I said, not every girl is that lucky.

Moreover, just because someone dumps you doesn't mean you're ready and open to just date someone; time is needed to move and the characters in this show did not respect Pari's desires...she had to argue and fight for it.

An arranged marriage is one that involves the agreement of all parties...and all parties are involved in the decision making before either parties meet.

what bothers me is ..y r they in such a hurry to marry off a 21-22 yr old..at least give her time to move on n mature.
as if some 19-20 Yr old ankita n 17-18 mansi arent dealing with enough probs in mrg..is mansi even 18? she is younger than prashant who is younger than ankita i guess
still beats me...how do they all have such fancy degrees at such young age?
more than forced mrg..all this confusion is forced into our head

Technically all the characters ages make NO sense...so it is best to forgo all logic when it comes to ages on this show...Savita and Sulochana are probably 90 plus but they move around like they are in their 50s..so do not even go by what this show has to offer.

If we go by what age they should be in theory, even if Pari is of marriage age; she should be the one making the initiative. The family can suggest prospective partners but not expect her to agree to someone until she is ready. It's not fair on Shekhar.

Honestly this is not right time for pari's marriage.

She is not yet over with aman plus her father is going through some serious illness.

First archana should fix her 40+ daughters then think about pari.

but to mess up everything this is important.
