request - could we remain focused on the current tracks and actors?

This is a request and not a debate.
I had thought the India-forums platform is ideally for discussing shows, their plots, character development, performances of actors, and their entertainment value etc.

Discussions about actors and their appreciation by fan groups do have a place here. I am not critiquing any fan group or any threads in particular. But if we can keep the threads about past plots and actors to the minimum that will be well appreciated.

The current tracks and actors, who all seem to be working very hard, deserve fair treatment. We hardly see threads about them on the 1st page. Drowning threads about the current tracks in threads about past tracks and actors is not fair to the current actors.
Please take this as a request and not a debate.
Thank you.

Muse, i absolutely agree with your post & i wish and hoped that was the case after Ashvik left the show. However this cannot be possible when certain members will do anything to instigate Arvi fans and take every chance to say their name even though they've long left the show. There are many examples of this on the forum and i would love to post them here but it is against IF rules.

Hi Soniiyaa:

Good to see you after a long time! How are you?

I completely agree with you that posts instigating fan groups can cause much undesired activity on the forum and should be avoided by various groups or individuals. But at times, there are also posts that can hurt feelings of fans of past characters and actors other than ArVi. I guess it will have to be a broader consensus about not hurting feelings of fans of various characters and actors whose tracks have ended. But I also think that appreciation of various kinds that involve personal information and achievements of actors of past tracks can be consolidated in fewer threads to keep room open for current actors and tracks. I am not saying that there should be no expression of appreciation. I am just in favor of fewer threads.

I feel that some new actors are doing a great job. Because the screen space is so crowded right now, each character gets only a little time to make their mark. All actors look for positive feed back and a fan base. I think the current lot deserves an opportunity to establish a fan base that is reflected in threads. May be I am getting overly sensitive to the needs of the new actors. But I do think they deserve a chance on the forum.

Take care

OK. As you wish.
It is not a matter of debate for me anyway.

As I know SSR left the show long time ago and Arvi left the show few months back, so which other actors is TM referring too? And Arvi track (if no replacement) may have ended, so who else's track have ended? I understand that lots of things are happening in the show but I hardly see threads being open about the current characters/actors and their tracks and if a thread is open barely there is any discussion, so why blame appreciation threads of past actors being in the first page? Instead request the fans of current characters/actors to create threads on their tracks rather than requesting the past characters/actors fan's to have a fewer appreciation threads. If no thread is open about current characters/actors and their tracks than how by having fewer appreciation threads of past actors is going to solve your issue?

I am fully aware it is a request and not a debate nevertheless this is a public forum.

My two cents: There needs to be a proper discussion thread every day to discuss the show, which can be made sticky too. Either the mods can make one, or some member can volunteer to make a daily discussion thread, the way we had earlier in the forum during ArMan times.

Right now, most of the members just discuss in Ankita-Naren AT due to which many members probably do not know where to discuss or feel there is no discussion happening in the forum. I think this would make things easier for everyone and encourage discussion. You feel more interested in a show when there is discussion about character, tracks and future possibilities.

Well, I did not want to come back to this. But since you are asking questions about TM's purpose, let me explain.

First, I have only made a very general statement. The words "characters and actors whose tracks have ended" are straightforward and I do not think they need any explanation unless a deeper meaning, which I did not have in mind, is perceived, Whether a reader wants to read more into these words is entirely up to her/him.

Second, I agree that there are hardly any threads about current tracks or actors. And that is exactly why I started this thread with a request. We really do not know that there is no interest in them. But it is likely that as in many group discussion situations, especially in classrooms, where some students feel intimidated since others are very active. Sometimes, as a courtesy, the active ones keep a low profile for a while so that the voices of the quiet ones can be heard. Whether the quiet ones take the opportunity is never certain. This does not mean that the very active ones were wrong to begin with. It only means that they can choose to show this courtesy if they want. If you read my post carefully, I have only made a request saying that the new tracks and actors deserve an opportunity. I have not made any value judgement about what is better and what is worse.

Finally, yes, this is a public forum and people have a right to express their points of view. But expressing one's views, with which not all will agree, does not mean that the conversations among participants with differing points of view have to be adversarial. It does not mean they have to talk always in a tone of challenge and counter-challenge. There can also be polite ways to communicate. That is why I made it clear in the first post that it is a request that people may consider if they are so inclined.

I hope I have made my position clear by giving this explanation. I will not post any further. Everyone may read my first post or other responses the way they like.

You have made a very valid request TM.. Undoubtedly, when a soap is running, the current story lines, the current leads and the current happenings should be in more focus...

But as already pointed out in the thread itself, not much people seem to be interested to do that... Of course I have seen the threads being opened; the threads which iniitially seem to be opened for the purpose you have highlighted. But when the thread doesn't move in a desired speed or gain momentum, then the fandom of " the characters or actors whose track have already ended" are provoked or instigated...

And INTIMIDATION??? Seriously???? This is an open democratic Forum. ANYONE can post or make threads for their favourites and discuss about them... You cannot hold those who are active for the passiveness or nonchalance to discuss the present generation and their story... Surely neither are the active ones going to pounce on those who discuss the current generation ( of course as long as it doesn't instigate them) nor is there the thread limitations such that the active ones are not letting others to have the desired number of thread quota...

And no this is not a classroom. The passive ones come face to face with the active ones in the classroom. Hence they might feel intimidated. But this being the virtual Forum, the members don't come face to face with each other, hence there is no question of intimidation... And when one doesn't feel intimidated to INSTIGATE or PROVOKE, one surely doesn't/ shouldn't feel intimidated to discuss the current cast, crew or happening...

Threads remain on the first or the second page depending upon the quantum of discussion happening on them and not because the members having their thoughts in the threads on second or even third pages are intimidated by those having discussions in the threads at the first page...

As it is a public Forum one cannot say that a certain thread should remain at the first page or should be relegated into the second one... Just my thoughts, not a debate again...
