I am very disappointed in how the PR team is handling the rape track.
First and foremost, are the police in India that insensitive. Surely the female police officers would have done a better job at interviewing Mansi. I was mortified a the poor interview technique and the lack of empathy or concern for them.
Second, has no-one even bothered to address the issue that Mansi might be at risk of getting pregnant from the rape? Has no-one even bothered to get her checked out? How about a visit to a doctor?
Third - in the west we have victims assistant programs where individual's can get counseling. Is there nothing like this in the India with the NGOs?
Fourth, Ahana/Anitka is portrayed as a weak and passive woman. When Naren slapped her, I would have rather seen her say to him "Get out of my house." I am sorry, but his man has pushed her and then slapped her and she's acting as though this is perfectly acceptable? Why do women producers and writers continue to show that it is perfectly acceptable for men to slap their spouses or girlfriend's? How is this even manly or respectful. I don't care what the woman has done - it is completely disgusting.
Fifth, Will Ahana/Anitka, quit trying to get into the bosom of a family that does not want her? I mean the woman is getting insulted and so is her sister and she's continually trying to get their acceptance, protect them from the press and see Naren. Who cares about these people? They do not want or like her...she should focus her attentions on her sister. I'd tell my own family to take a hike if they defended someone like Runaq.
Sixth. If Runaq can blackmail and sexual harass his female staff into giving him sexual favors for protecting them, why cannot he not capable of rape? Someone who does all these file and disgusting acts is a perfect candidate.
Just a disgustingly bad and pathetic track. After all these years in the business and the money to hire good writers, Ekta Kapoor continues to remain an insult to women. I would have expected more from her but it goes to show that even with all the money in the world, you cannot buy taste and education.
Has someone who has worked with victims of abuse, I am beyond disgusted with this story line. Thus far NO show in India is even capable of effectively addressing a story line that involves a rape...disappointing, very disappointing.
