Sushant Singh Rajput has credited his contemporaries for changing the ladscape of modern Hindi cinema.

The actor, who made his screen debut in Kai Po Che!, said that all the young actors in the new generation show great potential.


Speaking to Bollywood.com about the industry's most promising young talents he said: "Ranveer (Singh), Arjun (Kapoor), Ayushmann (Khurrana),Varun (Dhawan), Sidharth (Malhotra), Aditya Roy (Kapur), Rajkummar (Rao)... did I miss anyone?

"They all have great potential and it is also because of them that the structure of our scripts and the kind of films we are making is changing now."

He added that while he is most impressed with Rajkummar Rao, his screen heroes include Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

"Then it has to be Rajkummar Rao. He's a fabulous actor and he has achieved everything in life with sheer hard work and talent. I would like to emulate the perfection and intelligence of Aamir (Khan), the charisma and passion of Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan's (Khan) skill and Hrithik's (Roshan) decision. And there are so many other things that inspire me."

The actor, who won praise from his Peekay co-star Aamir Khan for his work, said while he is excited to hear positive feedback he is committed to excelling further.

"I feel excited every time I hear it. To make a promise is a good start, but to keep that promise is the most exciting and challenging part... and that starts now."

Previously a TV actor, Rajput starred in Shuddh Desi Romance and is currently shooting Peekay which also stars Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan.
