There have been a lot of shows that have gone off the air and left many fans disappointed, however, sometimes a show has just run it's course and it seems like a good time to finish it off. In order to keep the fans happy, the CV's bring the show back as a Part 2 ( like Punar Vivah, IPKKND, etc). in a new form, with new characters.
Ekta knows she has a good show with PR, but she also knows the show has run it's course, but rather than ending it on a happy note, she's going to keep it dragging with a leap of several years. It's essentially the same thing as having a PR 2, new characters and so on. The main actress will still be there, but in a whole new role.
The problem with all of these shows that have a Part 2, is usually the fans aren't too thrilled with it and it flops after a while. For the CV's and Ekta's sake let's hope that doesn't happen.
I personally am not so sure I want to watch PR post leap, I'll probably read the WU's and decide from there.
