Mumbai: Earlier, there were reports that young actors of the popular daily soap Pavitra Rishta are all set to quit the show. But now the viewers may get more depressed with recent reports which suggest that the show may go off air.

According to the sources, Dr Onir aka Shakti Arora, Arjun aka Rithvik Dhanjani, Purvi Aka Asha Negi and Ovi aka Shruti Kanwar will no more be the part of the show.

As daily soap is taking another leap of 20 years in August and the actors are not ready for it hence they have decided to quit the show. The confuse state of mind is compelling the young characters of the show to opt out as they don't know what will happen to their respective characters.

The source also said that the makers are trying to convince the actors, but in the case if they are not then the show will have to be pulled off air.

While Ankita Lokhande, popular as Archana, has returned to Pavitra Rishta, the bad news is that a host of young actors have decided to walk out of it. Interestingly, Ankita finally agreed to play a grandmother, that's exactly the reason why she had quit the show earlier, provided she has a meatier role. And the makers did not disappoint her. They offered her a double role; apparently, she will play mother and daughter to Ovi.

But this development hasn't gone down well with the younger lot. Also, the fact that the show will take a generation leap of over 18 years to facilitate Ankita's return has proved to be the final blow. As many as seven actors which include lead couple Rithvik Dhanjani-Asha Negi, Usha Nadkarni, Jia Mustafa, Karan Sharma, Shakti Arora and Shruti Kanwar, have already put in their papers. Says a source, "The actors don't want to age on screen and aren't that keen to continue post the leap. The makers are trying to convince them to stay back.

While they are still negotiating with Rithvik, Asha and Shakti, a few of them like Jia, Karan and Usha have already made up their minds."We have to wait and see what the future holds for them.
