The City Hall once again hosted some of Zee TV's most loved and adored small screen stars on Friday night. The popular Indian channel on DSTV's Indian bouquet has Indians glued to their television sets for hours on end.
Among the stars for this year's event was heart-throb Rithvik Dhanjani (Arjun from Pavitra Rishta), his fellow co-stars, Asha Negi (Purvi, his on-screen love), Ankit Narang (Soham) and also Rupal Tyagi (Gunjan from Sapne Suhane Ladhakpan Hai).
Making their appearances one at a time from different entrances of the City Hall, the crowd waited anxiously as the stars appeared in the presence of bodyguards. Splendour of fun and entertainment awaited the audience who danced along to songs from several Bollywood blockbusters as the night progressed.
"This has been a wonderful experience as this is the first time I get to see the Zee Stars live. We see them on television but being able to see them perform for us tonight is truly amazing," said Sheila Noothai, a member of the audience who could not control her excitement upon seeing the stars.
Rithvik, who has captured the heart of most "desi" (Indian) girls in South Africa and around the world, has performed at several shows in Durban with many of his co-stars, whereas it was Rupal's first visit to country.
When asked about his feelings about the city Rithvik said, "Coming back to Durban feels like I am coming home. I do not feel that I am only here to perform and entertain you. This is my home."
If you missed out on this show this past Friday night, don't despair. The organisers have confirmed that your favourite stars will be returning sometime in the near future.
