Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judge Madhuri Dixit reinforces her love of dancing

HAVING PREMIERED ITS sixth season on the COLORS channel this week, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa pairs celebrities with professional dancers and pits them against each other in the dance arena. Here we speak to judge and dancing icon Madhuri Dixit about the advantages of appearing on the show and what catches her eye.

As the 'Dancing Diva' of Bollywood, who do you admire watching dance these days?

I love the way Hrithik Roshan dances I have always said that. And recently I danced with Ranbir Kapoor and I thought he dances really well. The kind of energy that he gets to the floor is wonderful. And from the women I like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma. I have seen her in Band Baaja Baarat. I thought she danced really well in that. So there are quite a few I like.

How does appearing on Jhalak benefit the contestants, in your opinion?

I think Jhalak is a great platform for people with real talent. We get to see a different side of celebrities. Even though they are popular and celebrities already, they put in a lot of hard work. We have discovered various hidden talents in our celebrities as well as choreographers. Our choreographers now have their own fan following and popularity and have become quite successful. A lot of TV personalities have become more popular due to Jhalak. One such great example is Sushant Singh Rajput. Post Jhalak, he progressed from TV to films and I think he is doing great for himself.
