In earlier days, transitioning from the small screen to the big screen was a distant dream, as Telly actors would only manage to bag character roles in big budget Bollywood movies. However, there is a big wave of change going on in the industry as various TV actors are not just getting break a break, but are also shining on the big screen.

Ayushmann Khurrana, after winning MTV Roadies went on to become a VJ on the channel; the VJ-turned-actor got lucky as John Abraham decided to cast him in his home production 'Vicky Donor'. Ayushmann got lucky as his debut movie became one of the biggest hits of 2012, and he also won awards for crooning "Paani Da" track from the movie.

Ayushmann's co-star from 'Vicky Donor', Yami Gautam too started her career in television in 'Chand Ke Paar Chalo' on NDTV Imagine. After working on a couple of shows, Yami got lucky with 'Vicky Donor'. After her big debut, Yami has got an attractive line-up of movies in Bollywood as well as in Telugu and Malayalam movies.

The biggest success story is that of the demure Prachi Desai who stole hearts as 'Bani' in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kasamh Se'. Abhishek Kapoor gave her a break in 'Rock On' and since then there was no looking back. She went on to do 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai', 'Bol Bachchan' and now has multiple releases in hand.

Sushant Singh Rajput is also the latest import from the tube into Bollywood; the actor after working on soaps for 5-long years, finally struck big when he was cast by Abhishek Kapoor in 'Kai Po Che'.

Sushant is undoubtedly the most promising newcomer in Bollywood at the moment, as he has some big projects in hand; he has also been signed by some big banners that include Hirani's 'Peekay', Yashraj's project and also in Imitaz Ali's next.

Amit Sadh, who will be making his Bollywood debut in 'Kai Po Che' as well, has been on TV for years; he was seen in 'Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr', and then, on the reality shows like 'Nach Baliye', 'Fear Factor' and 'Bigg Boss'. After years of TV experience, Amit will now be making his big move, and like many others he hopes that 'Bolly turns into his world'.
