Dabulls - Thank you. I really should get with the times and all these abbreviations :). lol. And yes... he did come in as a good guy and was changed by the CVs (and circumstances in the show).

Thanks! I am able to escape from my temporary charges every now and then, thanks to the nonstop Olympics coverage that keeps them glued to the TV for half the day, and I can thus start trawling the forum without feeling guilty or worrying about what they might be up to.

I am off to look for your 'bun' post that bee5 referred to, but I must underline that I too thought that what Sulochana did was not only a very stupid thing to do, but also an extremely insensitive thing to do.

Ovi is devastated and delusional about Arjun, and Sulochana has been fully briefed by Archana about her reaction, and that of other Deshmukhs, to her announcing that she had approved the Arjun-Purvi marriage. It is unbelievable that, against this background, any sane person, that too such a senior one with so much experience of the world, would then go across to the distraught family and beam at them while inviting them to an event that is calculated to plunge Ovi even deeper into her slough of despond. I really do not know what to say that will not contravene the norms of decency, not to speak of the forum rules.

As for Laurie's AK Q T pi, I am with you in preferring, well, not quite the original AK, who was too much of a Boss from Hell, but the halfway one, the one at the Pune conference, for example. He was just at the right stage then- neither too sakht , nor too naram, as he is now - in fact like a dish done to perfection, a bit more and it goes too soft.

Now, while one is glad that he is not seeking the blessings of all the senior staff by touching their feet, he is still a little too eager to please, as when he lunged at Farooq Bhai's feet and made me do a double take. It was just plain silly. Too much of Purvi's sanskaars seem to have rubbed off on him; I hope he outgrows them soon, as otherwise this overdose of mithaas towards all and sundry, beginning with the artistically sniffling and coughing peon, will give me an attack of diabetes.

I am endemically distrustful of an overdose of sanskaars. If Purvi had had a little less of them and had not fallen at Manav's feet at the dahi handi event, uttering 'baba' in ringing tones, she would never have been kidnapped. And as Ovi had rescued herself from Vishnu thanks to her excellent reflexes and her presence of mind, NO ONE would have been kidnapped at all, Gives one to think, does it not?

Shyamala, so glad you are able to pull off the disappearing act without your wards missing you. The pull of the forum is quite potent. I have the jitters about tomorrow, hoping my beti's sagaai goes off without a hitch and Savita doesn't dampen spirits by much. Arch's ladla is too euphoric to let anything come in his way of enjoying the evening. Though there has been a change in venue from Arch's Texas home to the Archu's chawl in Mumbai, me thinks, we should be able to make it in virtual time.

If Ovi's not hysterical but had internalized her sadness, would it be ok for sulo to invite her for purvi's engagement in these circumstances? Is it because Ovi is hysterical that sulo's wrong in the invitation? It seems that sulo's wrong more because ovi or savita may do something to impede it; not that she was completely insensitive and uncaring!

i agree
its just insensitive on our part to take depression or whatever she is feeling to another height by calling her a lunatic etc.
