I think the 'ma'am' thing is how you take it and probably where you live in this world. But frankly speaking Cvs here have goofed up big time…kids growing in NA most likely will call 'friends' including elders (with no blood relationship) with their first name, even if the 'elders' are their granddad's age…if formal relationship exist (as with teachers) in many cases will add a "Ms/Mr" in front of the first name…I know this first hand…now in India, this isn't acceptable..so we tend to add something after the name (like sister/aunt etc.)…but in Corporate India (private sector) it is "Sir/Ma'am' all the way even if the Boss is younger to the employee reporting…I have hardly see that this has changed even in 'American Companies' operating in India…It is the so called 'cultural diversity" dear…

And sadlty enough..American /Canadian companies don't encourage unions…infact, I personally know peoples in NA who will not support a 'Union' even if that means the person loses his/her job…it is a different society dear…Union is of a different mindset…and of course, Arjun was in his right to layoff employees…as of 'age –discrimination' that is again a debatable issue…not sure the so- called employees of Arjun who were lay-off had a 'severance package' terms in place….the truthn is most company are 'at will' meaning they hire and layoff at will and employees can do so the same...I don't believe there is any law in India that prevents layoff my private companies...if there is I am curious to know...

And to me Ovi definitely deserve better than Arjun…..

because arjun is her boss-DUH. ovi is not her boss. and its one thing to call someone madam when it is a professional relationship and another thing when it is personal. ovi called archana to hang out not do professional work so that makes it a personal relationship. therefore ovi should not expect archana to call her madam. purvi calls ovi mam bc for her it is not a personal relationship nor is she older than ovi. i work and i dont call my boss husband wife, daughter etc by sir/madam bc my boss knows that they are not my boss. their link to my boss means nothing to me. and i dont doubt that ovi likes arjun but come on does she not see that he is uncomfortable with her-thats being purposefully blind. i dont hate ovi for the arjun-purvi thing. i feel bad for her. i dislike ovi bc she is rude and that is not something u can deny
