Does anyone pay attention to what is going on these days in the PR forum and related pages?
Apparently not. If any of you do, then great job taking action regarding it (not).
Moderators
Do they exist on this forum any longer? Every once in a while they will come in on special request to leave a warning or lock a topic... without reading it, of course. As a result of this warning or lock - performed only after receiving a report - a new thread of "rules" will be posted. Because the perpetrators obviously read the rules, right?
Resham, Jaz, Devashree are all lovely women and Gur is a kind man, but is it of any use to have them as moderators when they don't do anything? Let's just take a look at their attendance: Gur, absent for approximately one year; Devashree, pops up perhaps once a month; Jaz and Resham, seem to come only when a post is reported. Sure a topic here or there is locked or put as a sticky, and maybe once every two months some "event" will take place, but what about the daily needs of an ever burgeoning forum? Repeated topic and MIDs are rampant, while organization is an unrecognizable term.
It is held in general that moderators of forums on I-F need to be organized and have the time to actually perform their duties; they need not watch the show daily, but should have a reasonable interest in it to know what is going on; the moderators should not favor a particular group, but enforce the I-F Code of Conduct and other applicable rules to any and all members.
Sadly, on this PR forum, half of the moderation team is absent and the other half seems rather oblivious or indifferent. The same articles are posted time and again. General upkeep of the forum is left abandoned, such as updates to sticky or "important" topics. MIDs are all over the place and post as they wish with no consequences. Hate to say it, but the forum appears to be a complete and total mess.
There is no balance in the moderation. Sometimes, a thread of debate (with no actual rule-breaking posts!) will be closed while another topic, under the guise of discussion will be filled with under the belt comments against characters. Are we to assume that covered "discussion" - which is really just snarky comments against certain characters - is allowed given that it is done in a "funny" tone, while actual discussions on motives and reasoning of characters and the storyline are banned because they use an upfront tone? (This is not addressing posts with vocabulary which is inappropriate, but merely the content.)
Language is another issue. Often posts, as mentioned above, will be closed with no reason simply because some fan groups find them offensive. They will have no inappropriate words or thoughts, but they are closed down because one fan will report it as it hurts their ever so sensitive feelings. Where is the room for discussion then? Also, when these same sensitive fans start using inappropriate language in their threads, or make under the belt comments on other characters, then nothing happens? Case in point:
http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1696850 From this whole thread, it seems that calling a REAL, living breathing person a "bitch" and other unmentionables is totally cool?
Also, many threads were seen recently where much bashing happened for both lead characters, but it was seemingly excused because it was done by fans? Why this double standard? When a "fan" proclaims hate for their so-called favorite, it is fine and dandy, but when an average member points out flaws then it is most certainly bashing, it seems? This is certainly new to me.
Thus, it is time to call for better, stronger, more active moderation. We are tired of the mess this forum has become.
Fan Pages:
Has anyone cared recently to take a look at the fan pages of Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Rajput?
Blatant bashing is occuring, with MIDs added in the mix, how perfect! To make it better, nothing is being done about it.
Can nobody else see it? I-F prides itself on being a website where fans and the creators of a show can come together, where we can let actors know what we think of them. I think Sushant Rajput will LOVE knowing that some MID thinks that his character is a "wimpy dimpy limpy ass" and that the same member's other IDs agree wholeheartedly. And of course Ankita Lokhande will be jumping with joy to learn that her "fans" are saying such wonderful things about her boyfriend; just what every girlfriend wants to read on a page that is provided to give HER feedback, hai na?
Will anything be done about this? Ever? Or can we just show to the world, that yes, this is India-Forums: no moderation, no respect, and nothing more than bashing perpetrated by the same people over and over again under different IDs. What a wonderful image to project.
This post is not intended to hurt the feelings of any member or fan group, it is only to get the attention of the members and moderators to these pertinent issues. However, if you are one of those who has been causing unrest or have been indirectly mentioned (or so your guilty conscience feels) then hopefully you can learn something other than bashing, thanks. Also if you have something say then feel comfortable yourself to post here.
