Sushant Singh might just stay on
For quite a while now rumours were floating around that Sushant Singh, who plays Manav in Pavitra Rishta, had finally decided to quit the show to pursue his long-cherished dream of becoming a film director. Yes, films are his passion and he wants to eventually move behind the camera but sources in the channel tell us that it is very unlikely that Sushant will quit the popular daily anytime in the near future. The show is more than two years old and it is still one of the top three shows. From time to time the actor keeps talking about going to USA for a course in filmmaking. But sources tell us that he has no choice but to put his plans on hold.
"Pavitra Rishta has given him an identity and status. It is also paying him very well. In simple financial terms it would not be in his interest to walk out of the show," say sources. However, it is true that he was not too happy with the four-year leap that the show went through recently. "He didn't want to age and become the father of a four-year-old. He was concerned about his look and image. But now he doesn't seem to have an issue with it any more," add sources.
Sushant also had reservations about the love triangle track that was to be introduced after the leap. "But a compromise was worked out. Since he was not too happy with the track, it has been done away with," say sources. Now some new entries have been planned and Sushant has been kept in the loop about the changes.
