It all started with a single silver glass slipper:

Umi was surprised when she received this in the mail one day. Along with it were the lines:

As the clock ticks, and its time for bed
A fairytale actually starts ahead..
With the stars blinking above
And the ambience filled with love
When flowers sleep, but peak and smile
And crickets come out to soak up for a while
That's the time when we meet, oh fair dame
Till the chime of midnight separates us again.

Later that night at 9, Umi, dressed up in a pink one shoulder gown, a silver bracelet on one hand and her beautiful hair left open, waited for her date near the hospital. 4 patients got admitted to ICU when they saw this beautiful lady.

Niki came a while later.

"Hi!" she said shyly, adjusting her tux and hair. "Did you guess it would be me?"

"Hai Nikki!" said Umi. "Of course I knew it was you! The handwriting was so bad that I couldn't read anything! So I guessed for sure that it would be you- it looked like a doctor's hand."

Niki was stumped. "My poetry went waste! "

"Was it poetry?" asked Umi. "It looked like a prescription! Oh well, it must be nice Nikki, you know how I always appreciate you. ."

Niki recited the silly poem to Umi again as she listens fascinated.

"Very pretty! "

"You never say anything bad about anyone anyway!" laughed Niki. "You appreciate every single person on the forum. You would have said 'very nice' even if I wrote a silly ridiculous version of humpty-dumpty for you."

Humpty Dumpty went for a prom
But they forgot to tell their Mom
The whole time their phones kept ringing
The ring tones made up for the lack of singing
Everyone danced on the super hit songs
Both didn't understand what was wrong!"



Niki laughed... Umi clapped.


"Tonight we give a fairytale feel to our prom experience, and since we are Manav and Archu's biggest fans- it would be only better if we choose a Cindrella theme!"

"Why Cindrella!"

"Cos Manav Archu share a Cindrella type story! A poor guy gets married to a dream princess with his fairy godmother that is Ganpati Bappa's help! At midnight the dream shatters and they get separated immediately after marriage!"

"So this means our dream will end at midnight too?" asked Umi, a trifle disappointed.

"No it won't!" said Niki, trying to sound romantic. "It shall be the best one out there.. this prince won't let you go or run away from you, whether you don't dance, whether you spill soda on my shirt, or whether you step on my toes while dancing... we shall be the best ones out there... and the rest of the couples shall burn to ashes out of jealousy like the evil step-sisters once they witness our compatibility on the dance floor!"

"But I don't know how to dance!" said Umi. "I am miles away from dancing. I've never danced in my life."

"Neither have I." said Niki. "That is why we are compatible with each other Umi! That is why you should come with me to the prom and not with anyone else! Whatever we do, we shall rock the party! Who cares whether we know how to dance or not? Jisko dekhna hai dekhega, baaki sab ko pakne do! We shall have a fun filled night the way we want it, letting ourselves loose, it shan't end soon, unless.."

"Unless?"

"Unless your clothes are your own and not borrowed like Cindrella's."

Umi whacked Niki on the head, Anki style. "I EARN" she said, tossing her head and adjusting her hair. "I'm not like you to exchange clothes from here and there in your hostel."

"I follow my idol Sushant's example- he wears the same suit and same clothes all the time- keeps recycling them."

Niki soothed her hair and offered a corsage. "So will you come along?"

Umi fixed a boutonnire in return. "Of course I will!"

"Let's go then." said Niki, signalling to an orange taxi, which resembled a golden, pumpkin coloured chariot.

"I don't have shoes!" protested Umi. "You haven't given me the second sandal!"

"So how did you come till here?"

Umi lifted her gown to reveal sports shoes. "Its rained so much, there are puddles every where."

Niki laughed and offered her the second pretty glass sandal. Both Umi and Niki are whisked away in their carriage cum taxi to the prom.

Are Umi and Niki able to enjoy the prom, unlike Cindrella and her Prince?

one fine Evening Resham came to my house with her Hands back and Knocked the door.I opened the door and became pleasant to see her in cutee pink and she surprised me by presenting me my favourite flowers


and asked me
"Will you go to Prom with me?" and my reply was "Yes"
